Really... so that's what you call boxing, huh? Funny, because I just watched "When We Were Kings" last night and you cannot compare the lack of will Mayweather and De La Hoya put on display to, oh, say, the Ali and Foreman fight that I watched. After all, Mayweather and De La Hoya are supposed to be two of boxing's all time greats, right? Wasn't this fight supposed to rejuvenate boxing and bring it back to the forefront of sports. Heh, it couldn't have been much more of a failure to do so!

Now Pavlik and Miranda... that was boxing, and one hell of an entertaining fight. If you tell me that you find a match with two guys circling and slapping hands for 12 rounds as exciting as the Pavlik-Miranda fight... well, I gotta raise an eyebrow.

Seriously, calling that a legit, entertaining match worthy of ticket and PPV prices is part of the reason this sport is in such dire straits and you should be ashamed of yourself for being duped so easily.

Anyway, this thread isn't about the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight that most would agree wasn't even close to living up to the hype, sorry to go off-topic.

Joe Rogan is not a good commentator, and he's always trashing boxing. Probably a cool guy to get wasted with though

It's just that different styles of boxers don't always make for action filled fights.

I've seen plenty of Ali fights that were dull as ****.

LOL, say what you want, but if you got into a scrap with the guy, he'd eat your lunch and **** your girl, the guy is a tough SOB! He is a very good MMA practitioner. Doubt it, then try the guy, i'm sure he'd enjoy kicking your ass any day if you are serious.

Maybe what he said was out of line, but AGAIn, hearing a fat old **** like Dibella describe MMA as human ****fighting would piss me off as well, and I like boxing much more than UFC! Dibella is trying to stem the flow of cash that UFC is raking in and taking away from boxing, plain and simple. But he is so simple minded and ignorant, anyone that is involved with MMA would jumpon him for his ignorant and incorrect statements!

Look at Arum, is he not getting into MMA events, he is the smart one, why not dabble in both boxing and MMA, make money when it's there right???

There r just not enough purists left to carry the sport on their own. However you look at it, boxing needs casual fans to survive. I wish instead of the dlh/floyd fight, casual fans would have seen miranda/pavlik fight. Would have been much better for the sport.

It would be funny if ufc drops in popularity soon.

Then Boxing is already a comedy show.

                    C'mon guys!!

Stop this MMA bashing. Both can co-exist.

Pavlik Miranda was two brawlers slugging it out using little defense.
Boxing is what Floyd Mayweather does and Pernell Whitaker did.
