I've watched the 5 last [besides the last 2] UFC's and all of the fights ****** ****...not even close. Boxing is bigger than its ever been. Friday night fights...wensday night fights. HBO Showtime ESPN ESPN Classic...VS...etc.
how can u say boxing is as big as its ever? i watched around the horn which have 4 diff sports writers arguing about sports topics, not one of them could name a heavyweight champion, lol I love boxing, but u cant deny that boxing is going down the drain, and with the de la hoya/mayweather fight getting a lot of buys, but not appealin to the casual fan. but to only the true boxing fans who appreciate the sweet science, its just gonna get worse. MMA is getting bigger and i hope boxing can hopefully get better.

When I see Boxing and then I see UFC... Boxing has alot more class, comes across way more professional.. and higher budget etc... Just presented alot better.

ps. I hate Joe rogan. dana white is having his babies.

Especially since boxing is more dangerous than UFC.

Dibella could've brought up the fact that the top UFC fighters get ripped off and underpaid more than the big name boxers do. He could've brought up the fact that boxing's biggest names like De La Hoya, Mayweather, Hopkins, Taylor, etc....make more money than the big names in UFC, so boxing will keep producing stars and talent since money is the big motivator for someone to be willing to get their heads bashed in. He could've talked about how boxing is more globalized now.

But instead he just showed an ignorant, elitist attitude.

Ya know, I like ufc as much as anyone, but to say its a better product than boxing is just plain ******. When the first death occurs in UFC, it will be revamped from top to bottom. Then it will lose it's appeal. And *******s like Joe Rogan will be out of a job, maybe Howard Stern will hire his loud ass.

The UFC has been around since 1992 and there hasn't been a death yet, so keep on waiting for that to happen. There has only ever been one death in MMA, EVER, and the person that died had some sort of unrelated medical condition before his fight.

How many deaths have their been related to boxing in the past 15 years?

As a boxing and MMA fan, MMA is a much better product than boxing right now. They market it better, the fights are more exciting, and PPV cards are stacked with good fights. None of those three things I mention exist in boxing right now. Did anyone seriously enjoy the Mayweather-De La Hoya snoozefest that was supposed to rejuvenate boxing? Please.

How could someone think it is respectable for either of these two guys to walk away with bucketloads of cash and barely even scrap it out, and demean guys that make much less money, yet step into the cage to slug it out, or choke someone out. Can you be any less intelligent?

I don't understand why people feel the need to draw a line and stand on one side. I watch both sports, I just prefer to see some action, and circling around the ring or watching terrible matchups does not excite me.

I also felt Dibella's argument was weak and boxing could have had someone else to better represent the sport. He played right into Rogan after Joe made the comment that MMA is swallowing boxing. He just came off as the usual promoter in boxing that is more worried about his own interests than the sport.

As for Joe he said he is a big boxing fan, but then to make a comment that MMA is swallowing boxing and saying there are not going to be any superstars in boxing again goes to show that he is pretty ignorant about boxing now a days. He says that he is a fan, but we all now that he probably isn't.

its simple, you like to see blood, people who enjoyed dlh vs pbf are purists, you are not.

I also forgot to mention that with buyout of Pride, UFC has already started having the "best fight the best" and they plan on continuing down that road. Again, something that boxing will never be able to accomplish consistently with the way it is run now.

For my sake, as a boxing fan, I hope that they adopt the same formula the UFC is using from marketing to matchmaking, but I have to be realistic too, and there are way too many roadblocks for that to happen. IMO, a new independent organization needs to be formed in order to fix boxing. No ****** sanctioning fees, the best fight the best, ONE promoter (which is the organization), etc. Everything that UFC does right, boxing does wrong.
