How come Colombian fighters never live up to the hype?

They are always hyped and they always get exposed, I mean I know colombia has some talent maybe but the fighters get so much hype like they are the next big thing by knocking out 20 bums in the first round in their country...

Joel Julio, Edison Miranda, Juan Urango, none of them live up to the hype, im sorry if im offending anyone but its true.

Carlos Mausa and Ricardo Torres did'nt either both were given their first loss by Cotto.

Because they have the wrong concept of what makes a great fighter. All those guys have power. With the power has to come a world class chin and world class stamina, if you want to make it with the big boys.

Well Julio is the only one who really got hyped up. I dont remember Miranda being hyped before his win against Eastman. I could be wrong.

Only Miranda's fans hyped him. HBO was picking up on the hype though.

many of those guys have become champs, just cause they didnt break out a super macho man punch on someone doesnt necessarily mean they havent lived up to their "hype". Torres was virtually unknown before he had the war with Cotto. Joel Julio is probably the only guy to be hyped by the boxing community who has failed to make the grade.

Urango won the IBF title and gave Hatton a tough fight. Miranda lost to one of the best in the middleweight divisio no shame there he'll be back.

Julio I don't know much about.

i noticed that too. but the only ones who were really hyped were miranda and julio. torres was hyped to a lesser extent, but very briefly. maussa made some noise on this site after his win over harris, but that died after hatton knocked his block off.

                    urango was never hyped.

as said earlier, you need more than power to be a great fighter.
