Everyone is saying that he's boring and runs but thats so untrue. Everyone remembers his last 2 fights in which he was fighting big monsters but they forget his 6 previous fights. That was basically a 3 year period when he had exciting fights and he had alot of action.
People forget that in those 6 fights, he had 3 of them where he was the stalker and walked his opponent down the whole fight. Against Zab, Mitchell, & Corley he came forward the whole fight. He KO Mitchell early, he dropped Chop twice, and he may have stopped Zab if it wasnt for the cheap shots. In the other 3 fights he mixed it up by boxing some and coming forward some. He had early KO's in all 3 fights and threw a bunch of punches but no one remembers that.
They forget that all those guys were bigger then him but atleast close to his size while Baldy & Oscar were huge. Dont forget that it was just a couple of fights ago that Floyd was fighting Gatti at 140 and only weighing 144 on fight night and now he's fighting an Oscar & Baldy who were weighing like a 168 pounds on fight night while he's still weighing just 148. He's not going to fight those guys the same way. He still didnt run. Its funny how people say that he runs when in reality there is no one who uses less energy in boxing then Floyd. He walks pretty much the whole fight. He just steps to the side, circles, or walks you down. Also, look how much of a pro Floyd is. People say ****** stuff like Oscar & Taylor made the fights but they still didnt do ****. Sure they came forward but they werent aggressive or didnt have any good technique. Look at the fights when Floyd is the stalker. He cuts off the ring perfectly and makes alot of action happened. Oscar & Taylor couldnt do that.
I also think those last 2 fights were a little misleading because I think Floyd just didnt want to screw up against Baldy and blow his big money fight like Zab did. I think he was just going to make sure he got that win and didnt take any chances. Against Oscar I think he didnt know how much the size would be a factor so he played it cautious. I think that he thought that it was possible that Oscar punches couldve been a shock to him and so on. If they fought again that he would be much more aggressive now knowing how strong he felt at that weight and how much Oscar's power didnt affect him.
Go back to Floyd's fights at 130. He had a ton of action fights and KO's. You know as well as I do that if you put him in the ring right now at 147 with Hatton, Cotto, or Mosley then it would be a good action fight with Floyd showing them alot less respect weight wise
