Since Mayweather came out of psuedo retirement in 2006 (and his foes were weak enough from 03-05 to consider him not seriously fighting), he's had three straight very good wins. Pac is still #1 on my list given his history (1st and only at 112 and 26 as lineal champ) and quality of opp BUT Morales III was unneccesary and Solis was an untested featherweight. pac competes at 130 but not against guys from 130. A bout with Soto in the fall would be a boon for him as Soto is one of the best young guys in boxing.

Mayweather can easily be seen at #1 with consecutive wins against Judah, Baldo and DLH; HIS history as the only guy to win the lineal title at 30 and 47; and the great work he got done from 98-02. I actually think he had a great case as #1 after Chico but P4P is argued as some merit list where spots have to be earned instead of, sans classes, who the best in the sport is at any time. I need to see Mayweather with another elite level guy before he can seriously be considered #1 again.

    Just my feeling.

Thanks for providing your side of the argument.

However defeating two aged p4p contenders should not be enough to surpass the resumess of the other two guys.

Both we're 29 at the time of the stoppage

        No doubt

It was like a tug of war between PBF and PAC on P4P best, but since PBF fight with DelaHoya convinced everyone that he's just an overrated boxer, PBF slides down and PAC now sits comfortably on top of P4P.
