The fact is that Floyd turned down a career high payday for a fight he himself described as "easy". Making the same purse for Baldomir is something which didn't transpire until well after the Baldy fight was made.

I'm realistic about Hatton's chances against Mayweather. It would easily be his hardest fight and he certainly would go into the bout with the odds against him. But being realistic also gives Hatton a chance, because he does have a hell of a chance. I've said before that if Floyd underestimates Hatton as much as his fans do then that's great for Ricky.

Look I for one would like to see this fight happen but it becomes the norm on here with people constantly saying floyd ducked marg or anyone else they can think of but when floyd offers a fighter (hatton) and they turn it down they are not ducking him. Fights like hatton/floyd need to happen but i just can't see putting it on floyd if they don't.

I still think he would. Although Floyd fought at a higher weight he still weighed in at 150 lbs. This implies he probably weighed the same or less on fight night. Hatton makes the 140 lbs limit officially but he weighs in at closer to 155 lbs on the night of the fight, so I still think he's bigger and stronger than Mayweather.

Urango was too big and strong to back up. Hatton outboxed him instead. Floyd would get backed up, I don't think that's really in doubt. The question isn't whether Hatton could make him step back, it's whether he could corner him against the ropes.

Why bring up Urango anyway? I thought you were filled with admiration for a fighter who uses intelligence to find a way to win... Hatton showed "technical skills" against Urango and now you're holding it against him... make up your mind!

I think he's bigger and stronger in raw power, but I would say Floyd punches harder. Floyd's shots definitely have more pop than Hatton's lately. As Hatton has slowed down, so has the speed of his punches.

Listen, marg brings nothing to the table at all he won a vacant ****ing title and was not the recognized champ and it would do nothing for floyd to fight marg he is unknown other than arum throwing his name out there after floyd left arum and if you really believe they could afford to pay floyd the 8 mill. to fight marg you should give up now.

Baldomir managed to catch Floyd against the ropes a few times. You think if Blady could do it Hatton couldn't? You're saying that Hatton is slower on his feet than Bladomir?

Yes Urango is stronger them Mayweather, have you seen that guy? No he would not last 12 rounds against De La Hoya. But that's completely irrelevant, Urango wouldn't last 12 rounds with De La Hoya because he doesn't have Floyd Mayweather's defensive ability, strength has little to do with how long he lasts in a boxing match. It does affect the tactics you use against a fighter though.

Ricky won 11 out of 12 rounds on all scorecards, why do we need an excuse? Ricky couldn't overpower Urango because he was too powerful, so instead he outboxed him.

If Ricky tries to box Mayweather he loses big. If he turns it into a fight then he makes it competitive. Hatton doesn't have Mayweather's extraordinary skills or physical attirubtes, but he does have attributes of his own. Dismissing them out of hand is a little naive.

He brought eight million things to the table, a career high payday at the time, which isn't bad for an "easy" fight. I don't personally think Floyd ducked Margarito, but if you're going to be throwing the term around then you have to expect the obvious criticisms in return.
