Guys have priced themselves out of fighting Calzaghe for YEARS, yet they dont seem to get much criticism for it. Evidently Hatton knew that he wasnt ready to fight Maywhether at the time. I didnt see PBF challenging DLH 3 or 4 years ago. In boxing sometimes you know that you arent ready.
the only problem with the bolded part of your post is that floyd has called out oscar for years, even when he was at the 130 pound weight, so i think he felt he was more than ready.

There is a BIG difference between Mayweather-Hatton and Mayweather-Margarito. I would hope you know what it is. Hatton is the "man" at 140 and Floyd is the P4P best. Both have said they wanted to fight. Margarito is a virtual nobody in the sport and when Floyd found out Margarito wanted to fight him he said "who
The reason I brng it up is to illustrate to Floyd fans how tedious it is to read about the $13 million business. Hatton priced himself out blah blah blah. Well Floyd priced himself out against Margarito and Margarito agreed to the price. Floyd still found a way out of fighting the more dangerous fighter! And bringing it up is tedious and largely irrelevent, just as bringing up the $13 million business with Hatton is tedious and irrelevent.

Ending your post with the phrase "end of story" doesn't make it so.

which is why he went for Oscar and not someone like Margarito...because there will be many of you saying that Margarito isn't a big name...

Who are the great names on Hatton record?

Obviously apart from Tszyu, who some people consider the greatest 140 pound of all time, lol, even though he lost to Vince Phillips.

Apart from Tszyu has hatton fought any names?

Id like to see Hatton rough up Mayweather, but realistically, thats all he would do.
He couldnt hurt Mayweather, he wouldnt find Mayweather easy to hit, he doesnt have a great jab, and he wouldnt wear down Mayweather.

I think Mayweather would TKO Hatton in the later rounds.

marg the more dangerous fighter? floyd just fought oscar who even at this stage of his career is still more dangerous marg. it's funny when people keep bringing up marg and that floyd ducked him when floyd fought the recognized ww champ for the same amount. and by the way floyd did something marg couldn't and that is venture up to 154 and win.

Well i look at it like this, if mayweather can stand in the pocket with a near 160 de la hoya, he can do it with Hatton, hatton can try and walk through mayweather shots a'la Tszyu, thing is, mayweather wont be there to hug and brawl afterwards, mayweather is a bit too nice for me on the backfoot, maybe hatton can do better than everyone thinks, after old, it depends when they fight and anything can happen in boxing.

Right now, its a TKO for mayweather, i dont think you beat this guy by a going at him a line, and i dont think Hatton will ever see that right coming over, or that sneakly left hook lead which comes out of vision anyways.

I just can't see how Hatton can win, unless mayweather evens things up by losing a few toes before fight night, simple footwork is the key here,

Stand right hand, sidestep, straight right, sidestep, counter left sidestep,

                      lol.
