well if we compare it to calzone´s manfredo fight, the main reason for this fight to happen, would be to introduce kessler to the mainstream audience, and if you ask me, its hell of a lot better to get noticed by stepping into the ring witt jones then manfredo, even if jones is shot, he still is classes better then manfredo..

it seems like those guys getting behiind joe, in his attempt to get his name across the states via manfredo, isnt willing to accept kessler is doing the same..

jones is still a big NAME, just not world class anymore..

as a kessler fan i would accept, that he uses jones as a way to make his name even more recognisable in the states, nothing more nothing less..

us hardcore fans, discussing and debating, also have to consider the fact, that the gap between us hardcore fans and the mainstream fan is qiute big, on tv jones is still a popular guy, people would stil be hoping for him to do it 1 last time.. kessler probably would win, gettint a big payday and getting his name across the atlantic..

True. To the average boxing fan it would be interesting.
As for the ever going comparison btw JC and Kess opponents... It's not interesting since jc won't ever be remembered as an atg exept by his own blind fans. Hell he's only had 1 great win since eubank. And time might even tell that the lacy thrashing wasn't great at all.

I wont believe anything until its official

If Warren won’t pay for unification, it's probably a good choice of opponent for Kessler's future on HBO.

I personally wouldn't care about a Jones fight though, the result is too obvious.

BTW. Calzaghe nuthuggers: An old champ is still better than a looser from a tv show.

Calzaghe was criticised when it looked like he might fight Jones. Kessler should be criticised for the same thing.

What Kessler is saying is idiotic. Yes he agreed to the venue, yes he agreed to the date, but $3 plus some of the ticket sales (confirmed by his promoter) is NOT a ridiculously low amount of money. In fact it would probably constitute Kessler's highest pay day of his career. So for a career defining fight...why would you not take it?

RJJ also wouldnt deserve 40% of the purse against Calzaghe. I'm not surprised that they were never all that serious about fighting him. He is not a credible fighter at the moment. He is fighting nobodies. He cannot get a big fight. He cannot get on PPV. If he ups his game and beats some fighters, maybe he would be worth 40%. At the moment the only thing that would make me consider him to be a more credible opponent than Manfredo is his legacy. Other than that he's fighting similar levels of opposition to Manfredo.

Its pretty much universally agreed that Calzaghe - Manfredo was a ridiculous and pointless mismatch... So why would we use it as a comparison for any other fight?

Why would Warren run from his offer at 5mill now when he needs Kessler the most? It's all part of his great Inkin plan.
If Palle showed any interest in this offer, it would probably go down again.

Thats a very one-sided view that does take into account what we were confirmed from Palle himself.

Kessler was offered $3m plus gate receipts to fight the most credible champion he could possibly fight at the moment in the biggest fight of his career, at a suitable enough date. Why did he not bite Warren's hand off and accept that offer?

Because Kessler is worth more. Simple as that.

Why did'nt he get Taylor to fight in the UK? - also because he's worth more than the 4mill offered.

Calzaghe talks about big fights, but if Warren doesn't want to give a fair share, thats all you'll get - Hot air.
