who gives a ****? oscar had never won any other belt than the welterweight and middleweight.
roy has accomplished it, meaning he has done better **** than de la hoya, de la hoya wooped an out of prime whitaker and an old julio cesar chavez, what competition is that? he lost to trinidad, and lost 2 times against shane mosley, and now with mayweather. he was great back then, he won an olympic medal but so?
roy has beaten bernard hopkins in the mid 90s, he beat james toney, all of them were competition.Comment

PAVLIK wont be AS big as OSCAR DE LA HOYA, but he could be bigger then MAYWEATHER if you ask me. And mayweather is very big right now becuase of that mega-fight.
The only way Pavlik becomes a superstar is if he UPSETS Taylor, or somehow becomes the MIddleweight king.
But i think he will eventually and when he does he'll boxings next legitimate superstarComment

arum is saying that because pavlik is white, so he thinks that since he's white and he's good, arum thinks that pavlik is going to be this huge crossover star.
thing is this, at this time in oscars career he was already famous, on the brink of superstardom. pavlik has got a long, long way.
arum is trying his little hebrew heart out to try and get another DLH to get rich off of........Comment

If Pavlik is good enough to be middleweight champ he will be a huge draw. I don't think he is, I think he has a few pretty significant weaknesses, one being the lack of major handspeed.
He will not be as big as De La Hoya. De La Hoya drew in tons of female fans, Pavlik won't be able to do this. I remember Bob Arum said after he signed Haseem Rahman that Rahman would go into the names along with other great heavyweights he has promoted such as Muhammed Ali and George Foreman.Comment
