77: I completely agree that he's boring as hell and made that point. Cory 'deserves' another shot but no one should want to watch it. I belive I wrote the fight was like 'watching mowed grass try to grow back.' It doesn't mean that at least one person should not give him credit for what should have been his victory (what he did) denied in a sea of reviews of what has been criticism of Taylor (what he didn't do).

what spinks "did" was land 11% of his punches.
Pathetic.
Taylor threw more, landed more and at a higher percentage.
Spinks ran around the ring occasionally throwing his jab and never landing a significant punch.

If you are challenging a Champion for his belt and land just 85 punches in the entire fight, you are going to lose, the fight was indeed boring after watching Pavlik vs Miranda -- but then again almost ANY fight would have a hard time following THAT fight.

Watching Taylor vs Spinks was alot like DeLaHoya vs Mayweather - one fighter is on his bicycle, the other one is following him around, and neither fight was much of a "Title" defense...

If you watched the fight the only time he avoided Taylor was in the 12th. Some of you need to rewatch the fight. How was he running? He was within Taylor's immediate distance the whole fight. Sure he had good distance from Taylor. But Taylor could have easily steppped in and made something happen. I wouldn't blame Cory for the fight Taylor was suppose to be the agressor. Besides I didn't find it boring really. It was just annoying how the ****ing announcers rather complain then call the damn fight.

What I don't get is the people who know he won the fight, but still say stuff like "He didn't deserve to win because his style is horrible". Like Taylor done anything in any round in this fight? I gave him 4 and that was me being generous. Spinks outworked him, outpunched him, outlanded him. In my eyes landing about 10-15 punches per round is better than throwing about 7-8 per round. People say he ran? What else were you expecting to see with a light middleweight fighting someone who could easily make light heavyweight? Should Spinks have went toe-to-toe and got KOed just so that he wasn't in a boring fight?

I completely agree with the author of this article.I think he broke it down perfectly,especially the scoring criteria.It may have been pitty-patty output from Spinks,but atleast he was doing something.Taylor would stand there absolutely dumbfounded for the majority of most rounds,and then usually land one hard punch in the last thirty seconds.I don't care if he is the defending champion,Spinks deserved the nod clearly IMO.

There is something wrong with this man, if that's what the punchstats etc came up with that just makes me think "wtf". Taylor threw about 10 punches per round, every round? Rewatch it and count if you think otherwise.

Compubox is a complete joke!I've seen many fights where both guys clinch the whole round(Usually heavyweights),and compubox will say they each landed thirty punches or something ridiculous like that.I just don't see it!
