    Bernard is wrong:

There are lots of MMA fighters that have training in some dicipline, if it is wrestling, boxing, kick-boxing, or some type of Martial Arts.

"Street Fighting" should be counted as well since it is a form of fighting and those that win all the time have to be good.

Lets all remember, boxing is really just organized bare-fist fighting which started on the streets, except now it has evolved a bit with the gloves and some rules.

      Hopkins would KO Liddell, though.
Not in MMA, Hopkins would get killed.

Unfortunatly Jamele Hill makes a point. Casual fans just like knockouts, even if the first 10 minutes are boring as hell.

          On Mayweather:

They are Intimidated by what MMA are doing...also, he has a 135 pound fighter right now that would beat up Mayweather in MMA rules.

He does say the same thing as Rome that it depends on what rules they are fighting with.

He also mentioned how Mercer and Botha did not do well in MMA.
          {note, Mercer and Botha were shot fighters}

Who gives a ****? He would beat him at grappling and kicking? Ok, so what?

Come one, lets all be honest, you watch boxing because it reminds you of a street-fight or school-yard fight when you were a kid.

Remember how exciting everybody got when somebody yelled "FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT"

Now, MMA is closer to a street-fight than boxing is.

And this is why boxing needs to lower the ounce of the gloves instead of going up.

And lets not talk about "death", we are in a sport where two men are accepting being hit/beat up for a living, death happens.

In addition, on that note: more people die from alcohol, cigarettes, eating bad food, etc. than they do in boxing, and MMA.

OH, Everybody in boxing really misses Prime-Tyson, lets face it.

Do you have no appreciation for the science of the sport? It's more than just knockouts, you know?

Also, it seems like you're personally worried about the sport attractiveness to other people. Why? If you enjoy it, leave it at that. Boxing will always have it's ups and downs.

streetfights usually only used fists. sometimes kicks .. and also start with somebody getting sucker punched.

What boxing needs is to be handled better. The regular 8 and 10 ounces are fine. The fighters are still very good. The heavyweights are good if people would just see them. Thats why it pisses me off when the media says there is no heavyweight division. They dont know ****. Wlad could be a huge star if he were promoted right. He is knocking everyone out in his path recently.

Radio host Colin Coheard put it best I think. He said boxing is one of the most thrilling sports there is, but it is by far handled the poorest.

Yeah she is right on that point, but I wish Rome had some real people on his panel that knew something about boxing. Both never stood up for boxing instead they talked about how dead it was. Who cares though because Boxing will always be best for me.
