Each to their own I guess

    Mostly former world champions

Why weren't you saying this before the fights?? All I can remember is the Americans convinced that Sheika was going to beat Calzaghe, Brewer was going to Calzaghe, Mitchell was going to beat Calzaghe, Lacy was going to beat Calzaghe. Make your ****ing minds up

Because I know Calzaghe is a good fighter, it's only his resume that I questioned. And those two things aren't always neccesarily related. Don't think every American on here doubts Calzaghe man.

Have to admit that i have disliked Calzaghe in many years, mostly because i thought he was a protected fighter that didnt fight the very best and has never tried to cement his name in USA as most european fighters try. And as a big fan of Hopkins i was irritated when Joe caslled him out numbers times.

However as Joe countinued to win and win, year after year. I decided to sit down to watch one day several of fights with him, to see how good he is and not just say that Hopkins would beat his ass all over the ring.

Have to say i was dammed impressed in how good he is and in his style. No matter what the other fighter bring to the table, Joe is going to be very, very hard to beat. Even if he is 35, he still fight as he is 25, at a very high pace, great reflexes, good hand speed, good footwork, good technic, and a solid chin to go along.

As much as i like Hopkins, i dont think he can beat Joe not now and perhaps not before either. Simply because Joe wont fall for Hopkins "trick" and fight at Hopkins preferd tempo.

Joe would probably steamroll Bernard in the later rounds and he may not stop Hopkins, who would go the distance beacuse of his chin and his great footwork that would carry him to the final bell. However he can look bad in some fights, mostly because some of his opponnents fought causus, as they was afraid of him. And didnt look for any exchances and avoided Joe for most of the rounds.

And unlike most older fighters, when the end is near, Joe is still very motivated and still fight as good as ever. Perhaps he is more motivated then ever before, beacuse he knows the end is near and he needs a couple of "super" fights before he retires.

I think Joe should fight for 2 more years, if he still fight as good as now to mark his name in history. First he should fight Kessler who i think will provied the biggest challange and perhaps could upset him. If he beat him he should fight either Taylor or the winner between Hopkins and Winky. After that perhaps give some if the younger unbeaten challangers a chance, mainly Bute or Froch. Both fighter should be hot fighters in a year or so.
