and bernard can counter with his right once winky opens up, remember..b-hop is excellent in timing these kinds of things (unless he gets old overnight)....or a clinch-fight inside...I can't remember the last time I seen winky fight in a clinch..

That's a great gif, really shows how bad Jermain Taylor's 'low hands' defense can be.

Did Manny ever yell at him in the corner for not keepin his hands up? Can't remember, but wouldn't be surprised if he went buck wild on him between rounds like he did this past weekend.

saying he's going to appear invisible to Winky, and winky not knowing where to expect his punches....I read that in an interview on b-talkdotcom...

what do u think he's going to do to winky?...to be honest I think he'll really take winky to deep waters...winky was already breathing heavily in the mid-rounds vs. Quartey, and he 'opened' up more for the crowd reaction and going for stoppage (ur only as good in ur last fight)...Winky says he'll do the same thing vs. B-hop which I think is a bad idea, but boring...and once Winky opens up, u can expect Hopkins to look for that opening like it was a flying saucer from Independence Day...I hope Winky's a big favorite so I can bet on Bernard to execute....he's going to box and pot shot winky all night and ever so often clinch n hit for good measure...winky doesnt have enough power to even make Bernard wince....I just don't see how Winky can win, I mean yea he has excellent defense with a nice jab, but no 'umph' behind it...plus hopkins can make any pressure fighter frustrated...


man I'ma enjoy this fight from a purist standpoint...

I'm picking Bernard Hopkins 100%.

Which means I have Hopkins 55/45.


Winky is someone I adore as a fighter and his significance will be felt in the future.. He's going to be considered an alltime master, and it has been an honor watching him in his time and being part of it - but Hopkins can win this fight fairly decisively with his special capabilities.


It won't be easy though.. There's always the chance Winky pulls out another gear and shocks everyone with a style adjustment.


Bernard is a ghost, and Winky beats men with pride and ego ****.

Hopkins is willing to sacrifice the crowd, his work-rate... Anything to accrue.

He will make this the ugliest win in history if he has to.


But Hopkins will NOT play Winky with Winky.

This fight is probably going to be one that a lot of people consider pretty boring. Two defensive fighters that don't necessarly care if they please the crowd as long as they get the win. I really enjoy watching defensive masterminds counter punch their way to victory though. I have no idea who I am picking to win, I like them both.
