No. Pacquaio throws beautiful, fast punches in combination. He's not a 'boxer' but he doesn't have bad technique like Miranda.\
This is just the first of many points that speak against such a comparison.Comment

Oh my bad, I forgot Pac's speed!
But then I'm only basing my comparison to the lines in bold...and that's about it.
Miranda lacks heart, speed and stamina of a Manny Pacquiao...Comment

IF there is anything Miranda has MORE of then Pacquiao, it would be heart.
How in the world he got up from even that first Knockdown was unbelievable. Theres just so much desire in EDISON MIRANDAComment
-
Yes, Miranda showed a lot of heart. He was hurt badly in the 6th but wouldn't quit, getting up twice and courageously taking more of Pavlik's sledgehammer punches.Comment
-
^And yet he succumbed to punishments...if Miranda has Pac's heart/stamina then he would have survived the full 12 IMO. I mean, I don't want to sound like a Pachugger but I can't stop comparing the two.
I saw Pac broke or damaged his 'left' in the 1st round vs JMM and survived the full 12 still firing 'lefts'...
I saw Pac's huge cut over the eye vs EM (Pac vs EM 1) and he survived the full 12 breathing his own blood...
I saw Larios 'rocked' Pac on the 3rd and saw Pac firing his own against Larios...
I mean, those 'might be lesser' than those 3 KD's suffered by Miranda...but ****...If Manny could last full 12 with those and JMM could get up from 3 KD's in 1 round against the arguably hardest puncher P4P and survived the full 12 then why can't Miranda?Comment

What A great fight but at the end me and my girl were a little sad for miranda especially with that documentary of his life before the fight. I am now a Pavlik fan he's the real American boy this mothe ****a can crack, It's about time theirs a real good white American fighter he should fight some of them boys across the sea since they allways want to prove themselves against americans. but i'm still a Miranda fan he'll be back!Comment

what r u talking about.
First of all, it was the REF that stopped the fight.
I bet Miranda would have gotten up AGAIN if Smogger let him, but thank god he didnt.
I mean, Pacquiao has a lot of heart, but when has he EVER shown that much? Never. Hes never come close to it. He's never gotten the oppurtunity even.Comment

he got pretty clobbered too. I dont want to hear he wasnt getting hit. Hes a tough sonofa *****.

INCREDIBLE is the only word to describle last night's all-out war between two of the best middleweights in world. For me, last night's fight was the most exciting boxing match I've ever seen and IMO this year's FOTY.
Both fighters displayed tremendous courage and heart in this all-out war. Pavlik however fought the smarter fight backing Miranda into the ropes where he was able to dissect Pantera's defense and throw him off his rytham and minimize his punching power. Infact, I think that Miranda totally punched himself out after the first two or three rounds and could never really recover from that and Pavlik's constant barrage of punches. Before the KO, I had Pantera only winning one round to Pavlik's 6.
However, if my recollection is right, Miranda landed some pretty hard combo's that had Pavlik wobbled and 'on the verge.' To his credit, Pavlik was able to weather the storm and fire back with his offense.
Anyways, all-in-all, just a tremendous fight between two warriors which not only lived up to the hype but exceeded it in light years. Kelly Pavlik really proved himself last night as the number one contender and one of the most entertaining and fan friendly fighters out there. In contrast, Miranda showed that he has incredible heart to get up and continue after getting hit with some of the hardest punches I've seen by a middleweight boxer. Last night was a great night to be a boxing fan!!Comment
