Floyd may have the skill but does he have the heart? I haven't seen it yet. Maybe just glimpses of it againts DLH. It aint over till ist over for Floyd but. I'd have more respect someone that showed me instead of told me.

no floyd would get the same kind of respect or recognition because Chico gave to the fans where as with floyd the fans give to him.

chico gave us great fights and great memories. he fought anyone never making excuses, and he conducted himself in a respectful manner, even with the dark cloud of his past hanging over his head all the time.

floyd carries on all the time about himself, bragging, talking unnecessary **** about people not only in this sport but in others, chico never did that. and the people,us the public, pick up on that.

chico put himself more on common ground with people unlike floyd, floyd makes himself out to be a god or something that is untouchable, he takes a level of status over people and his fans, chico would sit down with you and chat with you like any other person in his life.......................

floyd is a great boxer and is a good person when it isnt fight hyping time, but from the times that i met both, chico was the one you walked away from feeling like you were his friend and at least for me chico remembered you each time he saw you, i've met both a few times and after the first time Diego always remembered me and said what's up, with floyd I was just another face....

but like i said, Chico gave to his fans, i really can't say that about floyd. after leaving a Corrales fight you felt like you at the very least got your monies worth if not more, usually more. with a floyd fight you either get board or you feel like you could've spent that money a helluva lot better. i have yet gone to one of floyds fights and been like, "hell yeah that was a fight, that was well worth it". that never happens in a floyd fight at least not yet anyway. and i've been to a 5 of floyds fight, the only one where you were like that was hardcore was his fight with Chico (sad to say) and that was only good because Chico came to fight, floyd was just doing his same old thing, although his same old thing is damn good at what it is and what he does but it really doesn't give anything to the fans. Chico's same old thing did nothing but give to the fans.........................

I'm not talking about respect from people. Floyd doesn't give a damn what u think of him. As far as boxing accomplishments go, Floyd is far ahead.

Dude, You aint **** if you don't get respect from the fans. You can have a nice list of accomplishments, but it aint going to be **** if it did not really mean anything to anybody but your nuthuggers and yourself. I can graduate college and still be broke and not have a job. Degrees don't mean **** if it aint satisfying nothing just like Floyd's list of accomplishments. All I have to say to Floyd is do somethin about it. Get your respect. Add something to that list that will make people see who you are through what you do.

Floyd has contributed a lot to boxing, he makes it entertaining in and out of the ring
floyd is not an entertaining fighter. it seems like he doesn't even care about entertaining fans even a little. it can be fun watching his craftiness, but it wears off pretty quickly.

floyd would be a bit more fun to watch if he was willing to actually engage in a fight. there's only so much pot shotting one man can watch.

at the end of the de la hoya fight, the fans weren't booing floyd because he was entertaining. and what has he done that is entertaining outside of the ring. i can't think of anything besides his little chats with brian kenny. and that is all brian kenny.

so, the question of weather he would get the same respect as chico. i would have to say no. chico provided his fans, and all boxing fans with some of the most entertaining fights. especially corrales/castillo 1 which is one of the most unpredictable and entertaining fights of the last 10 years.

chico was also very cool when it came to interviews. seemed very approachable and never ran his mouth about being the greatest boxer of all time.

unlike many others on here, this thread to me, is far from ignorant or ******. i see the threadstarters point. floyd gets so much hate from people on this site and in the media for his personality and attitude, and all of this overshadows his legacy in the ring. then, people try to shatter his legacy as a result of his attitude. i believe floyd's death, would be a huge blow to boxing and many people would give him his dues if he died like chico.

ok guys, this is a genuine question, but what made Muhammad Ali so popular, I want your opinions, he trash talked and said a hell of a lot of **** about fighters saying how they were so ugly etc! So why was he so great? Yeah he's done a load for charity etc after boxing, but when he was still fighting, if he died, the world would be in dispair!
                      what do you think?
