Of course he would, his accomplishments are greater than Chico's (not discrediting Chico's career BTW) and like someone mentioned, it depends on how he died. Floyd has contributed a lot to boxing, he makes it entertaining in and out of the ring...
if PBF died would he get the same respect as Chico??

chico never pussed out, chico never made excuses, chico never ran, chico fought his ass off til the end.
none of the above could be said for floyd.Comment

He would get more respect, amongst those who just look at the boxing facts.
But i'm not disrespecting Chico's legacy, cos that was pretty decent as it stood anyway. Oh and something that 99% of the population couldnt do, seeing as 99% of the population are too **** scared to even step into a ring, let alone go 12 with another trained fighter.Comment

I can't even answer this. I need to see a fighter expose his heart and bare his soul in the ring before he gets a remembered and respected. All of fights ive seen PBF in, he hasn't once shown me who he is only what he is, a God gifted talent. If Floyd died right now, I would remember him as wasted potential because he has what it takes to become great. Everything has been too easy for Floyd, too safe. I'll remember him for all his antics outside the ring though. If Floyd really loved what he did and cared anything at all about his legacy, he should stop thinking about the money associated with names. He wants to fight Trinidad, who will be easier than DLH for him and knows it and so does anyone whos opinion really count. He should fight Shane Mosely, because he is the most difficult, challenging, fighter out there for Floyd and he know it as well. Avoiding Mosley will make me loose respect for Floyd as it would befitting of how he fights in the ring. I wan't to see Floyds metal in the ring. At the moment I would not have the same respect, because I would much rather see a replay of Chico fights than Floyd's next fight againts anyone except Mosely or Winky, maybe Margarito.Last edited by Alibata; 05-18-2007, 04:35 PM.Comment
