    floyd is an insecure boxer.

    I don't see your point.
Ali was calling himself the greatest years before everyone else agreed with him.

There's always been trash talk though and arrogance.

Ali was just as arrogant, he was just more charismatic and entertaining when he talked about how great he was.

Mayweather's trash talk was pretty minor league compared to some of the stuff from guys like Duran, Ali, Camacho, and Bramble.

The difference is that in Ali's day, it was the exception. Today, it's so commonplace that many people barely notice it. Sort of like seeing a fighter intentionally hitting low, or blinding another fighter with a stiff arm and throwing a punch behind it, or seeing a pro ball player display ****ty sportsmanship on national TV with 10 million kids watching it.

Like I said, the world's gone completely to **** over the last 30 years or so. Steadily and slowly, so it's hard to notice while it's happening, but it's definitely happened.

Can you further explain that for me. I'm not quite sure I understand what you're saying.

What does fouling have to do with the last 30 years?

Guys have always been dirty, back to the days of guys like Battling Nelson and Harry Greb, fighters thumbing each other all the time.

my point is that a person who is secure with himself doesn't go around claiming that they are the greatest.

i'm not a fan of ali either. and i don't consider him or anybody else "the greatest." to me, it's just a silly ****ing title.

Foreman should have won that night, no way in hell would ali give foreman a rematch because Foreman would have kick the **** out of him in the rematch

Not true, countless atheletes/musicians/performers etc proclaim how great they are in their mind before they ever become what they think they are in the eyes of others. Floyd thinks it, and look at where its gotten him. Critiscm yea, but that **** goes away with time. If this was nowadays Ali would be getting ripped on this board because the legacies of alot of fighters he fought would be harder to judge, yet ali constantly taunted and belittled his opponents. The world is a different place now but still the same. People who talk alot of **** and back it up are very much disliked. People who talk **** and only back it up halfway are also disliked. As long as you show even the slightest bit of arrogance, your disliked, its just how it is in our world. Its like that ******* at work who rubs it in about how good a job he does, and then does it.

i stay in MD... not baltimore... couple mins from dc. most casual fans wanna see mayweather lose because he's portrayed as an *******(which he is) rather than the best there is. I'm black and there's not many white people where i live. Every fight party i throw that pbf is fighting, theres rarely someone routing w me. i think that PPL generally think that he's the bad guy. I have no idea why ppl bet against him though
