They say they dislike Floyd Mayweather because he's too ****y and they always root against him in his fights.

With that said, whether or not black people like Mayweather is irrelevant to anything. This is a pointless thread.

If this was nowadays Ali would be getting ripped on this board because the legacies of alot of fighters he fought would be harder to judge, yet ali constantly taunted and belittled his opponents. The world is a different place now but still the same. People who talk alot of **** and back it up are very much disliked. People who talk **** and only back it up halfway are also disliked. As long as you show even the slightest bit of arrogance, your disliked, its just how it is in our world. Its like that ******* at work who rubs it in about how good a job he does, and then does it.
      and yeah to that too

I think its quite sad that people like his ****yness. Just because IMO if ur very arrogant, u have to also be either smart and witty or just funny and likable.
Both Ali and Prince Naseem were annoying *******s at times, but also very funny and likable. Floyd is neither witty or charming or intelligent. He shoots his mouth off and is emotionally unstable like somone on coke.

What does fouling have to do with the last 30 years?

Guys have always been dirty, back to the days of guys like Battling Nelson and Harry Greb, fighters thumbing each other all the time.
True, but when I was a kid, people seemed to make a bigger fuss over dirty fighters. I watched a fight the other night where a guy stuck his left glove in the other fighter's face for a few seconds after grabbing him and walking him into a corner, and then threw an overhand right while he was taking his left back out of the way and tagged the guy pretty good. Nobody even mentioned it. Saw another fight last night (had been recorded for awhile and hadn't seen it yet) where Jason Estrada got frustrated and literally threw the other guy onto the canvas and into the ropes. Ref only warned him, where he should've immediately taken a point and threatened to DQ him if he did it again. Teddy only mentioned it in passing.

Also, Mayweather's trash talk is designed to convince himself he's the best just as much as it's mean to convince everyone else.

One thing that impressed me during the big fight was that the crowd where I watched (a tittie bar with a few hundred people) was not racially divided. The black sector of the crowd included plenty pulling for Oscar. Some Hispanics were rooting for Floyd, and the whites seemed split as well.

I think its sad people make so much of another's personality to the point they look past the accomplishments. You don't like ****y, well some people do.

That's called low self esteem....Some people dare not big themselves up, for fear of being brought back down to reality... Everyone has a different approach to things... I believe that sometimes understating how good you are is just as annoying and belittling as trashing someone... Because if a fighter says oh I'm nobody, I'm nothing special and he beats the **** out of you, what does that say about you, while if a person says they are the greatest and beats the **** out of you, oh well you got the **** beat out of you by the greatest

This is a very interesting thread, because the same black people that say floyd is too ****y are the same ones that feel liek they have to smile and be polite when people of a different race are around... Phuckin Sellouts!!! If you are black and a boxing fan and you can't route for floyd, who can you root for Chris Byrd....rofl
