But that of course is where your argument falls down though isnt it? Cos if it was 'nothing special' then there'd be a mass of undefeated mutli-world-titlist, two weight champions etc who would have done it.
Whether you like it or not, it is an effective skill and one that Hatton has mastered and added to his arsenal. It isnt pretty, but nor is having a fight with someone that you dont really get involved in. But they both win.Comment

Because the criteria is dum, i have to name the ones who were unfeatead in thier 42nd fightOn the other hand, I DID ask you to name the other multi-weight, multi-title holders who were undefeated on their 42nd fight and who defeated another top P4P fighter when they were in the top 10 P4P list. But you overlooked that. Perhaps to spare yourself the grief of failing.
lmao.
Being undefeated doesnt mean **** when you have only fought one top fighter.
But if you wanna play, i am willing to try my best and name as many multi weight, multi title holders in this era who are better than Hatton.
Accept my challenge?
lol.Comment

I think most fighters don't hug precisely because it will get you hated just like it did John Ruiz. That is precisely what has happened to Ricky Hatton anywhere but the UK...But that of course is where your argument falls down though isnt it? On the other hand, fighters would fight like Mayweather if they had the same abilities that he did. Most fighters don't fight the same way because they can't. It's not by choice...Comment

As far as I am concerned, achievements are the most important things in boxing. Its one of those sports where its all fine and well having great potential and showing it every now and again by heavily defeating a favoured opponent. But consistency is the most important factor. Griding out the wins, beating the people put in front of you, winning the belts. What is the point in being a great fighter who is excellent one fight and loses the next? (Unless he is facing the very highest standard every fight of course). If you are undefeated, nobody has ever proven that they can beat you, so in my mind you automatically go higher than a lot of other fighters who have suffered a large number of career losses, despite being highly credible fighters.
See, this is the whole point that people like you fail to understand. Boxing is SUBJECTIVE. NOBODY knows who would win in a fight out of Hatton and Mayweather because they have NEVER ****ing fought. So while you can express your opinion on it, you do not know and never will.
As far as I'm concerned, Hatton is consistent. He has won multiple titles, he has won titles in more than one division. Going into his 43rd fight he is undefeated. He has fought another high Top 10 P4P fighter when they were still in the top 10 and I can not name a fight where he was legitimately close to losing (as much as you'd no doubt like to this he was against Collazo, the cards disagreed and any impartial person can tell that he still had his wits about him and was not close to being knocked out at any stage).
I cannot name 30 other boxers who have done better than that within the past 10 years.Comment

Why would I accept a challenge based on your criteria when you wont accept one based on mine?
I'm sorry that you dont think that consistency and the ability to win regardless of the opponent is a particularly impressive feat, but I do. Winning is the hardest thing to do in boxing because you only need to be off your game for 1 second regardless of the quality of your opponent and you can lose. Ask Lennox Lewis. Ask any fighter who has ever been knocked out by a flash shot, by an inferior fighter when they felt they were in control of the fight. Taking that tenacity and ability to focus on the fight away from Hatton by claiming that there was only 1 legitimate victory in that 42 says more about your argument than it does about mine.Comment

I'm fine with that. I hope that you are okay with the fact that it is quite debatable whether or not quite a few out of those 30ish you've named deserve to be ranked ahead of Ricky Hatton as far as work from the past 10 years goes.Comment
