    DLH could have won...

If he had used his ****in' jab for more then 2 rounds, he's ****in' DLH he didn't make his name being a pressure fighter. Working of the jab and staying on the outside he could have probably won a D, or at least forced Mayweather to fight hard on the inside. Mayweather won by fighting on the outside & circling, DLH was just following him around trying to get off combinations, but had he boxed he could have been touching Floyd with the jab & keeping him off balanced. I thought DLH fought hard, just not smart, & the fact that he does fight smart was the reason why I thought he had a chance at beating Floyd in the first place, anyone agree?

I agree ,the jab was the key to fight. I was surprised Mayweather really had no answer to it. I dont think Floyd had ever seen a jab that big before. To be honest the only rounds DLH won was when he pumped the jab and followed with combos.

Im also going to watch the replay tonight, the only time i seen the fight was PPV.

The only way to beat Floyd, for a guy like Oscar, is to pressure him; and that's simply because Floyd, in the center of the ring, is phenominal. When Oscar was landing with the jab, he was stepping in with it, which falls into the category of pressuring Mayweather. Mayweather ultimately won because he began to clinch when DLH would get close on the ropes, which is DLH's only chance, per the instructions of Roger, very intelligent.

Why DLH stopped using the jab, only he knows. He won't even let that info out, any veteran fighter knows why they stop doing something, he knew why he stopped using it but didn't want to say it. It wasn't because of Mayweather countering it, either. Sometimes I wonder if he had a hundred million dollar bet on Floyd, knowing he would get another fight with him, seeing how much buzz the first one generated.

i completely agree, that's the reason why i think a re-match shuld be made in september cuz i think oscar can beat floyd by pumping his jab,
is an advantage for oscar to fight in september cuz he is still in shape from all that training so he will be better prepared

I think DLH would've done better but we fail dont know what PBF would've done had DLH continued to use his jab more. PBF adapts well and makes many subtle changes to his style in each fight. I saw PBF time DLH's jab at least twice though with overhand rights.

It would have been a much more interesting fight if he had used the jab more. In a certain sense I could have seen him winning the fight if he used it because he was winning the rounds that he did use it. On the other hand Mayweather adapts better during fights than most fighters and probably would have upped the pace and counter right hands over the jab. Who knows maybe there will be a rematch but I heard DLH was retiring.

I agree with Square Circle, when Oscar tried to box Floyd, he was getting killed. I think Oscar did very well pressuring a younger faster fighter and made a fight out of it.
