I thought this was about ring entrances, you know like Naz flying to the ring on a magic carpet, or Arce riding a horse, some guy steps out of a closet, shakes off some stray hangers and a dress, bows to the audience and gets ready to do battle. That sort of behaviour won't win many fans.

Ok. Only one person mentioned this, but Emile Griffith is rumored to be gay. Look him up. He dressed like a dandy! Now I dare someone to have walked up to him and said "***". He ****ing killed a guy(Benny Paret) in the ring.
And on an off note, gay rock/pop star Morrisey has featured pics of boxers on at least 3 of his records/singles and he's a huge boxing fan. It's no big deal to me, I don't have gay friends for the same reason I don't have friends who are bigtime into country music..nothing in common

true what a boxer does outside of the ring is his own business, but on the other hand boxing is a macho sport. I think there would be a backlash againt a gay fighter. With fighters probably not wanting to fight him.

There are 1500 guys in the NFL, 350 in the NBA, 750 in MLB and about 50-100 top boxers.

It is wildly unreasonable to assume that there are't many gay guys that we ALREADY watch and root for. Even if 1% (an extremely low percentage) of those guys were gay, you are talking about more than a couple of dozen.

I would still be a fan, it wouldn't change a thing. They would still be just as good a fighter. And in response to the first post, a gay person is just as likely to have AIDS/HIV as a straight person.
