Is Jose Luis Castillo Past his Prime?

Everyone knows JLC has been in many wars throughout his career and has fought a lot of tough fighters. We also know he has been struggling with his weight these last couple of years and looked like a dead man walking in his last 2 weigh-ins at 135. In his debut at 140, JLC looked less than stellar against a prospect with only 15 pro fights.

From what we've seen of Castillo lately, do you think he is past his best?

How can you even ask that question?
We have to wait and see.

he's frantically posting all these threads so he can say (if hatton beats JLC) that the win was meaningless because JLC was past his prime

No but he's close. I think his performance against Hatton will determine it. I'm favoring him over Hatton. I don't think Hatton will be able to be overly physical as he is with his other opponents.

          Im concerned.

I know Castillo was rusty in his last outing but the young kid he fought stood in front of him the enitre fight and usually if you do that with Castillo your going to get busted up seriously.

This didnt happen which has me thinking a bit about the power JL has at 140.

I will be in attendance at the Thomas N Mack and I will have my Castillo head band on but Im concerned...this fight will tell us alot...about both men because Hatton fans should be a little bit anxious as well.

Castillo was in his prime when he beat Floyd!

Hatton better not start leading with his face and hugging JLC. I think that has become his game plan lately.

Of course he's not in his prime but he is nowhere near being shot to **** either.
