    ...they are better then DLH-Mayweather...

And considering the matchups we have coming up... not to much to be dissapointed about.

    PAVLIK-MIRANDA, TAYOR-SPINKS, CASTILLO-HATTON, WILLIAMS-MARGARITO, COTTO-JUDAH....

Every single one of those fights promises to be twice the fight DLH-MAYWEATHER was...

UFC broke a million buys on one of their ppvs last year....

If every fight could get promoted at least a little bit like this past week it would still be in the main spotlight. But it doesnt because we have some kick ass fights coming up that will eclipse DLH vs Mayweather in terms of action...Personally I cant wait to see Cotto vs Judah...

I think boxing does a very poor job of selling their products. Boxing has alot of marketable fighters that have already been proven to thrill. If every fight that was worth paying for or watching can be marketed half as well as Oscar vs. Mayweather then more people would be watching. If they marketed say a fight between Calzaghe and Jermaine Taylor half as well, knowing that fight would be the ****, they would get people to tune in. They need to hype these fighters up. When I see low budget pre-fight shows for Pacquiao vs. Morales vs. other fights that don't do half as well you know the marketing machinery needs an overhaul. There are only a hand full of fighters right now that can bring the type of fights and exitment that can cross over to the casual fan at the moment, but alot of potential comming up the assembly line. Boxing needs to look at their products and hype those that can bring the audience in, they can create something bigger out of the talent that is available or wait for another less than stellar event to hype up. Names like Calzaghe, Pacquiao, Morales, Barrera, and others that have lived up to their billing should be mainstream. Mayweather only went maintsream because of DLH but wasn't really well known before that, judging by his numbers.

i wasnt talking about pbf/dlh as how exciting it was. i mean to say not every fight is as intresting, as hyped up, and as electrifying (i.e. the atmosphere) as dlh/pbf.

if this fight brings in new fans, those new fans will be introduced to sanctioning bodies, crooked judges and refs, boring fights, promoters, bull**** decisions, and find out there are WAY too many titles and WAY too many weight classes.

it might bring in new fans, sure. but dont expect those new fans to stick around for very long.

i agree. I think if the action is good enough then they would stay no matter what, but some of the best matchups coming up are gonna be letdowns.

But let me ask you this. When was the last time the SUPERBOWL lived up to any of the hype? Probably not since the Rams-Titans which was in the late 90's right?

No theres still a lot of work to do. Like the heavyweight division for example. People actually think the division sucks when its actually not bad. The media is just ignorant, and Wlad needs to be seen.

well im a big football guy, and the superbowl has one or two dramatic minutes total in the entire 4 hour broadcast.

With a big boxing event, the entire fight can be dramatic.

There is no reason Boxing shouldnt be popular. It just gets zero attention. Theres no reason for it, people just gotta be willing to risk money from there pockets to get more back

The Super Bowl doesnt matter. It can be a dud and football will be fine because due to the amount of games in the schedule every game counts. Fantasy football is very popular too.
