Hey Dude, I know your hurt and your Avatar is funny and all, but I think you have to get over it. The fight was a let down. But, it really shouldn't be such a surprise. This isn't the first time and it won't be last. The World awaits let down support group is now up and running, all you need to do is provide the PPV bill.

Since when is it a bad thing to win fights?

When you promise so much more than the bare minimum to win and dont deliver. Its not like PBF couldnt have taken the fight to Oscar like he said and bitched that he would.

              What about Freddie Roach?

Looks to me that he, De la Hoya, lost this fight when he chose Freddie Roach Over FLoyd Sr. When your business partner, Hopkins, has to stand up and yell at you to motivate you then your trainer isn't doing a large part of his job. I still remember how instrumental Teddy Atlas was in the Holyfield/Moore fight. "Your doing just enough to keep him off you, LISTEN you need to throw punches out there,......."

This is a big part of a trainers responsibility, motivating your fighter to do what was working in the fight. At no point did Freddie convey the level of urgency needed after the 8th round. When it comes down to it, if De La Hoya had pressed his jab from that round on, he would have easily accumulated the points to win. He may have even caught Floyd with a follow up right/left hook combination. I think it was telling to see Floyd Sr, Oscar, and Oscars brother conversing after the fight and Freddy Roach was no where to be seen.

When it comes down to it there is a reason FIGHTERS like Holyfield, De La Hoya, Barrera, and others make the big paydays almost every fight; they fight. "Boxers" like Mayweather exist only to survive a fight and posses such overwhelming speed they win. He should RETIRE because, as a fight fan, I wouldn't pay to see him fight a guy like Coto. I already know he will grab and poke his way to a boring victory like he did last night.

We all know that Latin Fighters deliver the goods more often than not and African American Fighters tend to be the lackluster type. Ali IS the greatest, to bad he spawned this legion of puke followers. Often imitated NEVER DUPLICATED.

If he stands and trades with Oscar he loses. You know it, I know it, Oscar knows it and most importantly, Floyd knows it. He jabbed, threw cominations, threw lead rights and hooks, knocked down punches with his gloves, ducked and dodged punches and fought to WIN. That, my friend, is boxing. Its too bad you don't appreciate it. Could he have dominated like he said? Absolutely. But he would've had to move in and out more (or run, as some people here seem to call it) and then hear everyone ***** about that. He said he'd stand and fight and he did. He said he'd win and he did. What is the problem again?

great post, weak generalization at the end. It only holds true for floyd and a slight majority in this day and age, but historically is garbage.

Freddy Roach IMO is a good thinker but most of his fighters(of course, not pacman) have done poorly as his ability to speak has deteriorated(surprise surprise).

NO ****ing way. The work Freddie did was good. Oscar backed Floyd up, Oscar's defence was great, he cut off the right pretty well. He just didn't throw punches. If you think Snr would have help you better change your crack dealer. Don't knock Freddie, he wasn't the one fighting.

sorry, floyd didnt throw combinations, he threw 1-2's at times when Oscar was clearly shot and ready to be soundly beaten. If the guy showed some killer instinct that he should have for a guy who talks big then ppl would respect him more.
