Take MMA, gloves are there to protect hands, but when it comes to blocking, not so much.

"Boxing" was part of the "Art" of Fighting. Soldiers learned how to box and they were not going into battle with big-puffy gloves. Understand?
This is Boxing, Gloves are apart of Boxing take gloves away and it isnt Boxing. What is so hard to understand about that? Again this is Boxing this isn't MMA, this isn't bare knuckle fighting this is Boxing and in the rules of boxing you have to wear gloves you parry punches with gloves you block punches with gloves using your guard so Winky's Defense is a legit Defense no matter what you say.

        Sorry, but you are wrong.

Boxing started with no gloves...then moved to using leather straps and brass knuckles, to spikes, then back to bare-knuckle, then to gloves.

Just like Kickboxing, when you see fighters wearing gloves and pads for their feet: the main purpose is just for protection, but the actual practice is for self-defense. They do have full contact kickboxing, no pads, no gloves.

Just like the increase of glove size, keep it up, it will be sparring, not fighting.

This is all I heard yesterday from the people around me watching the fight, "This is sparring, not a fight"

Boxing is losing fans because of this.

I prefer boxing over MMA, but with the size of the gloves, it hurts the sport.

those fans who abandon boxing are not REAL boxing fans.

Model or just a "regular" person who looks stunning?

Boxing will always have "die hard" fans, but the most money is generated when the common folk come.

Those that are "Fight Fans" will sometimes have to choose between a MMA fight and a Boxing fight, and if a boxing match is seen as a sparring match (with oversized gloves), guess where that fan is going to go?

Borrowing a similar concept from Max Kellerman (and who ever said it first), if you have two fights going on, A sparring match to your left, or a street fight to your right, which one are you watching?

You need those fans, you need their money. Why? MONEY makes people want to do some crazy things, like fight. Fighters will participate where the fans want them, which will determine where the money and respect is.

Arthur Abraham has pretty good defense. The guy can cover up, can move and use upper body movement. I know a lot of people here hate him cause they thought Miranda won. I think though he's way more exciting than Winky to watch. Floyd's been pretty boring as of late but he's got at least ten fights where he's been spectacular.
