I think he is just as good as Winky and Pacman, but you've got to lose your P4P standing or really blow people away with an amazing victory to gain ground. Winky is fighting B-Hop and Pacman is KOing his opponents, so unless Marquez does something EXTREMELY amazing he has to be behind them.

Nope, Floyd, Winky, Pac, Taylor should be ahead of Rafa.

          taylor ahead of rafa?

          1. taylor never moved up in weight

          2. win/lose or draw taylor consistently looks like an amateur whose only asset is "activity"

If we're saying that Floyd is retired than I'd have him at #2 behind Manny Pacquiao. If Rafael beats Vazquez in a rematch and then goes on to unify then he'll have a strong case for #1 along with Pacquiao.

I'm also posturing that Hopkins will beat Wright so I have Wink out of the picture here.

Last time I checked Hopkins never moved up in weight and he was P4P #1 when he fought Taylor, 2 wins against Hopkins, a draw against Winky, a win against Ouma should be ahead of Rafa.

Actually I have Hopkins in the fifth spot, so Rafa is not even in my top 5.

I know Ring Magazine guys are doing some goog crack for having the Marques brothers in the top 5, it doesn't mean I will agree with them.

BTW I don't want to hear the excuses about the Hopkins fights, I don't want to get into that again.

IF Floyd has retired and is inactive for 6 months,Winky Wright is P4P #1

ok I will repeat it for you.

win, lose or draw Taylor looked like **** in his last 4 fights or he fights smaller man of dubious pedigree (ouma, trying the contender guy) to look impressive and still does not look impressive.

He "beat" a 40 year old man, who was ripe to be taken. And what a beating it was... all the fight coming forward, pawing, getting countered, outlanded in final stats. You call them excuses because you are a Taylor fan boy, but those are facts...

Oh yes the draw, with a smaller, older winky. again what a draw...

                      ALSO
I did not have Hopkins p4p number 1 at the time, because it was clear from the eastman fight that he just needed someone active and better than eastman to be taken (dont give me any tarver bullcrap, cos tarver was 37 and was not active at all during the fight).
If you followed hop's career you would have had some su****ion when he failed to stop a 35yo allen, who he thouroughly ****d in '99.

so in my book bhop did not beat no number 1

                      INSTEAD
Marquez fought everyone at 118, then moved up to take on one of the best fighters at 122, and he gets a stoppage while ahead on the cards, in the ring against the bigger champ he shows skills and heart.
