I could be wrong, but I didn't hear too much coming from roach in the corner . We didn't get to see a lot in the corner, and I know it's always a good idea to let your fighter rest inbetween rounds and only give him bits of info at a time and not swarm him, but I think de la hoya coulda been pushed a bit more and fired up, not just a mumble of throw the jab son. I think A de La Hoya who showed up and fought on his toes, used his jab and tryed to set up a bit better rather than the follow floyd to the ropes and swing wild tactic, would have done a bit better. Could this possibly be because of Roach? Maybe the Mayweather Sr and Roach styles were too diff for de la hoya to adjust in just in just one fight. He just looked a bit confused and bewildered. Decent fight though.
De La Hoya lost to Freddie Roach?

I heard Roach use the jab but Oscar was not using that much. If he use jabs more a lot. It could have been a win for Dela Hoya. -
Man, Oscar did the best anyone has against Floyd in recent times. Did you really think an out of prime and older Oscar could pull it off? I was thankful he didn't tire that bad as his usual. He did improve greatly and it was shown. Floyd is just too much at this point for Oscar at his stage. The key thing that nobody seems to be able to crack is Floyd's defense. It's just impossible to land clean and if you do, just as hard to follow up.Comment

Even Hopkins jumped up to DLH's corner to urge Oscar to keep jabbing, but Oscar wasn't having it. I wonder why.Comment

I didnt really hear Roach at all. He is overhyped, he worked with fighter that were already good like Toney, and Pacmans non stop aggression would smother people like he has been doin regardless of his trainer. The least he could of done was have Oscar in shape and Oscar seem tired from the 4th round on. Maybe the rematch he will work with Floyd Sr since Floyd Sr. said he won.Comment
