I scored it 9-3 to Mayweather and I was supporting DLH going into the fight. I think DLH started off promising but began to tire in the middle rounds where Floyd took over and edged out those rounds with the cleaner punches (DLH was swarming in with bursts of punches barely landing clean). I felt Floyd controlled the final few rounds to earn a clear victory.
DLH was too sporadic and although he pressured Floyd in the early going he ended up just following him around getting picked off by the faster punches.
IMO Sky Sports' Jim Watt and Ian Darke got it totally wrong, I don't see how you can score that fight close when viewed round-by-round, watch it again and see how many rounds Floyd wins by sheerly outworking DLH. Sure, he hits the gloves alot but DLH hit gloves/thin air with about 70% of his own punches and didn't throw nearly as many.
I'm not a Floyd/DLH hater, I just love boxing and although I picked DLH to win this fight, I didn't let it corrupt my judgement whilst watching. Mayweather is a cut above the rest in p4p terms and I sincerely hope he doesn't retire when there are many more fights out there for him to showcase his awesome talent.Comment

I thought it was a close, hard to call. But hmm, I agree that Oscar's flurry just looked vicious, but didn't hit much. But floyd was hitting Oscar's gloves all night. So really...
I'm not mad at the decision, it was close but I think maybe a draw. Mayweather won the last rounds, but I thought oscar won a few from the second up.
I can't stand the way Floyd fights and there's no way in hell he's the best ever, not even close. Not too mention his character, he's annoying as hell, someone said it's the "ghetoness" nah that's not it. He's just one annoying SOB. But I think I'm hardly a floyd hater, more like, someone who just doesn't see all the greatness he atributes to himself.
Why is floyd retiring? He should fight at least 3 more times. I'm NOT going to say he has no heart, but he should not retire, that's a dumb move, retire now and you are not gonna be one of the greatest. He will go down as an impressive defensive fighter, but not a legend, no way. One of the most boring ones for sure.
I want to see Mosley vs Floyd. THAT I WANNA SEE.Comment

i give oscar de la hoya a lot of appreciation and respect. he fought his ass off, and he just made a fan out of pbftxrs316, real name brandon hayes. he fought with passion and hunger like he should have and just lost to the better fighter tonight. i guaranteed floyd would punish oscar, and in a way he did, he caught oscar with some vicious hooks and looping rights, but he didn't gatti oscar, and i never beileved he would, i only hoped, but he did clearly win the fight, and scores were a little off tonight, but oscar made the rounds competitive, and a few of those rounds could have went either way, but floyd clearly just outlanded oscar, and even in the rounds oscar won, floyd's landed punches were either more than oscar's with less thrown, or one or two punches lest than oscar's, but oscar was certainly more aggressive, and threw some amazing combos. he really impressed the **** out of me tonight. his speed was fast, even floyd dodged many of them. oscar's punches like his jab clearly hit floyd and snapped his head back. when he had floyd up against the ropes, he threw some great flurries, even though many missed, the ones that got in were crisp looking. oscar fought like a true fighter tonight, which he is, and floyd fought like floyd fights. he moved well, boxed amazing, showed poise, patience great timing, and of course his accuracy was very high as usual. floyd looked like floyd always looks, amazing. he made his punches count, and he should have gotten a unianimous decision imo. many experts saw the fight in floyd's favor and unanimous as did i, and of course, many fans at the fight saw the fight in oscar's favor, but many of them were there to see oscar anyway so that doesn't matter too much. max kellerman brought up good points when he said the fight should have been looked at better. he made good and logical points when he said, oscar only looked like he was flurrying once during rounds, but he wasn't really landing that effectively. when oscar threw his jab, which he didn't throw too often, he claearly landed, but other than that, he threw punches that were grazing and not big scoring punches, even though he threw more punches than floyd did. floyd, on the other hand, showed his magnificant defense, and he threw punches that were clearly seen well by the judges, except one of course who gave it to de la hoya. floyd boxed beautifully and even when it looked as if oscar was gaining momentum, floyd smiled and kept his calm. his speed, although clearly not what it used to be, just like oscar's, was apparent, it was effective. floyd put on another virtuoso performance. he was amazing tonight. he caught oscar with some beautiful punches, especially a crisp left hook. he, i don't believe had oscar hurt, but he did have him frustrated i'm sure. nonethless, both put on a great performance and i really enjoyed the fight. floyd won, but oscar won me over tremendously after his performance. he fought all 12 rounds, and although he did look tired a lot in the fight, his stamina impressed me a lot during the fight. floyd never really looked tired, just frustrated some. great jobs by two world class athletes.
larry merchant pissed me off with his hatred towards floyd, and emanuel stewad was just okay with his. they both talked about floyd's legacy, and how he isn't an all time great, but just a good fighter. they found time to bash his legacy while he was fighting. although, at the end of the day, none of this mattered when floyd defeated oscar.
as far as the fight and both fighters gameplan is concrened, floyd should have attacked oscar's body a lot more like i thought he would, but oscar, to his credit, showed some great defense against floyd, and did have trouble at times landing against oscar. oscar had trouble pressuring floyd effectively. oscar shoul dhave used his jab a lot more, because it was clearly his best punch. oscar didn't throw the left hook effectively, because of floyd's defense against it, and i feel floyd discourage oscar from throwing it with his defense, and that was smart. floyd hugged and grabbed oscar smartly when oscar got in close. oscar did fight rough, and he did a couple of dirty tactics which were smart because the ref couldn't see too much of it. the ring didn't affect floyd, the gloves didn't hurt floyd's hands like people thought they, or if they did, he didn't show pain. he is clearly the best fighter in the sport, and this fight, although, his biggest fight, was not his toughest fight, and oscar was not the toughest fighter for floyd either imo, castillo was and still is floyd's toughest fighter. oscar put on a great performace, but he was outboxed and floyd was just too good for him tonight. it was a great fight, and i hope they do it again. but if they both retire, then more power to them, and i thank them both for their legacies and dedication to the sport. floyd, i appreciate your will to win and you did your thing tonight, and you are an all time great and a future hall of famer. thank you floyd and oscar.Comment

why would he fight 3 more fights if you can't stand the way he fights? he clearly won the fight, and oscar clearly deserves a lot of respect and appreciation for his effort, but so does floyd. he deserves more respect than he gets, and less bashing. he is an all time great, and he fought beautifully tonight.and there's no way in hell he's the best ever, not even close. Not too mention his character, he's annoying as hell, someone said it's the "ghetoness" nah that's not it. He's just one annoying SOB. Floyd didnt outwork Oscar, he outran him, like he always does. P4P the biggest fake ever is a chicken who runs from everyone. Neither fighter looked great but Oscar looked better, he hunted down Floyd and made him scared, and that shiner didnt help floyd much eitherComment

12th round Right/Left Hooks
At the very end of the 12th round there were 2 huge shots landed by DLH that didn't phase Mayweather. I think this really does show how good of a chin that Mayweather really has. These looked like shots that Mayorga took when he went down.
Does anyone have a GIF of these images? I would like to see how hard those shots were a little closer.Comment

Yet Mayweather still has a "questionable" chin to most.

Mayweather has taken flush shots from Corrales, Castillo, Judah and De La Hoya, and has passed with flying colors.Comment
