Exactly - Valuev wants to cash in before he retires, and Vitali came out of retirement to have a big payday or two as well.

I would still like to see this fight i think it could be similar to the vitali vs danny williams fight. Valuev is so static and easy to hit vitali would have a field day

Yes, it will be a good workout for Vitali, and the perfect test to see if he still has his power. Valuev will probably get KOed.

First, I don't believe that Vitali would take such a 'dangerous' tune-up fight before a gaurunteed title shot. Having said that, I think Vitali fights a smart fight and dominates from start to finish and possibly stops the 'giant' in later rounds.

However, everytime I watch Valuev, I think that if he would just let his hands go alittle more( think George Foreman punches) he'd be much more effective and intimidating fighter. I mean the guy does not use his size at all, to his advantage. I guess its one of the big dissappointments of Valuev...

My source is the same one that I saw before I started the "Vlad vs Brewster II" and "Maskaev vs. Vitali in Jeopardy" threads, both of which turned out to be true a few days later. The source has been 100% reliable so far, but I don't think I'm supposed to link to it here. It just says it is being seriously discussed, not confirmed, and that Vitali, Valuev, and Don King all want the fight to happen.

I read about the negotiations for the fight a few days ago but now that Don King is involved, the fight most likely will not take place. What's interesting about this fight, is that neither of the fighters have ever been knocked out/down. If the fight does take place though, this may very well be the first KO loss for Valuev.
