You hear constantly that PBF's resume is terrible, he hasn't beaten anyone good in 4-5 years, he hasn't fought any elite fighters, etc. If that's true, why is he regarded as the #1 P4P in boxing today?
If Mayweather Hasn't Beaten Anyone, Why is he #1 P4P?

His resume isnt terrible. Its just the best current unbeaten record out there.
But then, all of the current unbeaten records out there are not considered to be particularly great.
Whereas the most credible records out there tend to have a few (usually recent) losses on them...which is why they arent considered as good.Comment

There arent many people dispute his P4P number 1 status. There's just lots of us who think that despite being deserving of that accolade, his record still leaves a lot to be desired. He needs to face much stiffer competition before he can be considered one of the greatest of all time. Even now, De La Hoya will be the biggest scalp he's ever taken and this is a DLH long past his best with a few poor defeats under his belt.Comment

You take "pund for pound' too seriously. It's not a real title. Floyd is Welterweight champ, with a victory over a suspect ex-champ and no defenses. That's all he is right now. Satuday he can become WBC 154lb titleholder.Comment

p4p is about talent. i dont think anyone here disputes that floyd is one of the most talented boxers of our generation. the problem is that he hasnt fought anyone with a pulse in 3 years.Comment
