I am sorry but wins over Oquendo and Minto do little to impress me.Chagaev would stop him brutally inside 6 rounds IMO.

      Boston bro I like you but c'mon now . . . .

Actually his experience makes for a tougher fight against Chagaev's style, but Chagaev does have the power to put (this version of) Holyfield's lights out.

It wouldn't be that hard. Chagaev can negate the reach difference, he can take a pucnh, and he hits much harder than Sprott.

Edit: but no one other than you wants to see this

Although I think Chagaev would probably win against Holyfield, I wouldn't give Holyfield no chance at all. He's an all time great, he seems in perfect health, and has done okay in his last two fights (against fairly good journeymen, not bums). Most importantly Holyfield is a smart, experienced fighter, and knows what it takes to win. And although Chagaev is very a good all-round boxer, he's not a Lewis or a Wlad. I would say 65% chance Chagaev wins, 35% chance for Holyfield.

I'll admit my bias for Holyfield maybe obscurring my reasoning but, I can't help but think that this fight wouldn't be a 'blowout' as you guys are indicating...IMO, Holyfield goes the distance and makes this a more competitive(and exciting) fight then the experts would predict. His heart and experience carries him far in this bout...

I used to be a huge Holyfield fan and still am in a way I just don't like him to keep fighting. He really is'nt all that competetive......Larry Donald schooled his ass a few years ago and that should have been that last we heard from him.He does look to be in great shape and I know he has vast experience but I just can't see him competeing with any of the belt holders or top 10 HW for that matter.Chagaev is a good fighter I 've only watched the valuev fight in full but seen some other clips of him and read alot about him......He has great power, good skill and is a south paw.....he will give any HW out there right now a run for their m9oney and beat 95% of them IMO.

Oquendo is hardly an all-time great, but for Holyfield to beat him, even if it was close, still shows Holyfield can compete with these guys.

holyfield would get battered and lose a very one sided fight to chageav. you seem to be forgetting the last 2 times he fought legititmate top 20 guys in toney and donald he got beaten badly. his last several fights have been against tailor made opponents who were right in front of him
