mosleys fought at 147 or higher since 1999-2000, he could never make 140 again, he struggles at 147 after being at 154.

so it bares repeating, why is hatton being matched against 147 guys by the haters when he's a 140 guy?

Yar...his gameplan changed when he didnt have the hometown ref [can anyone say Dave Parris?] on the payroll. Hatton was never anything but a UK hype machine that holds and hits and gets away with it cuz of hometown refs. See what happened when the ref was breaking him and Collazo up right? Dude got his ass beat. If that was the UK Collazo would have got TKO'd.

        SSM would murdlize Hatton....bwah bwah

i wasnt going to bother, but one last time, BECAUSE THATS WHAT REAL FIGHTERS DO! going up one division is no big deal for good fighters.

Who should Hatton fight and defeat in order to silence the haters? Young undefeated titleholders? No, they still put him down after he defeated Collazo and Urango. What about all time greats? No, they still said he was no good after he beat Tszyu.

Hatton is the best Light Welterweight at present, the deserving Ring Magazine champion. He's a heck of a tough little fighter, and deserves a lot more respect than he's getting.
I give Hatton a fair amount of credit for beating Collazo, especially since Collazo wasnt the original opponent he was training for (originally it was Juan Lazcano I believe). I also give him credit for beating Tszyu, as going into that matchup I was debating if I would move Tszyu up my P4P list "when" he beat Hatton (so I obviously didnt peg him as used up).

Maussa though was an opportunity fight, as his name grew over night with his upset of Harris, and Hatton jumped at the opportunity knowing Maussa's reputation had grown beyond its means. Urango was the weakest of the 140 champs at the time Hatton took him on, (though that might have just been a case of being the only one Ricky was inline to fight due to rankings and such also).

If Hatton Beats Castillo I will give him credit for that. The problem is since Ricky has entered the world class portion of his career (post Tszyu) he really hasnt had another fight that just "wows" you.

Hatton is a bit small even for a light welterweight, he's about lightweight size:

                  Ricky Hatton:
                  Reach: 65''
                  Height: 5'6''

                  Shane Mosely:
                  Reach: 74''
                  Height: 5'9''

                  Mayweather:
                  Reach: 73''
                  Height: 5'8''

Anybody who's ever really been in a ring knows how important reach is. Ricky Hatton is the best fighter his own size in the world, and he doesn't need to fight bigger boxers to prove anything! I would like him to face Pacquiao and Juan Diaz, have them move up to light welterweight for the fights.

Actually Mayweather started his career at 130 and Mosley at 135, Hatton never fought at 130 or 135, he started his career at 140, so Hatton is the bigger man.

As a Hatton fan I think he would struggle with Mosley, I don't think it's a fight he can win. If Mosley was a bit smaller he could do it, but Mosley is just a jump too far. I don't think it would be entirely one sided however, and it definitely wouldn't be a sure thing for Shane either. Cotto is a better fight for Hatton, and is pick'em. Mayweather would be a good fight as well, and you know something? If De La Hoya beats Mayweather I could see Hatton fighting Oscar and I could see him rising to the occasion and winning.

Collazo was clinching a lot, and Tszyu was cheating a lot. Just throwing that out there.
