additionally it can only count as experience. the more live rounds you put in the more you improve... i think it looks like padding but really it just lets them gain experience and helps them improve.

I'm also sure like the last poster said, its probably to put food on the table as well. keeping busy doesnt mean you're intentionally padding your record...

Yeah, they aren't bragging about it saying they deserve a title shot.

can you find 6 decent fights a year??

and name a boxer now days that fights more than 1 or 2 times a year
You hit it right on the head. The guy was fighting every other month and kept that level of activity for a long time. Yeah, he fought lots of guys with no record, but he built experience. For all we know, he didnt have an amateur career and was learning as he went. It's true that lots of guys pad their records up early by fighting guys with losing or no record; but how many guys have we seen that have fought and won 15 or more fights, all against sub .500 competition and then have the public clamor him as the next coming, or be given a title shot (regional or major) only to have his ass handed to him?
Give the mexicans credit...they take the sport serious and build themselves the right way. Castillo and Chavez did the same thing...do we consider their overall records padded?
JL Ramirez may have had a padded record, but he did give Pernell his first loss, ko Cornelius Boza Edwards and Chapo Rosario and beat a solid fighter in Terrence Alli. There's no shame in losing to HOFers Chavez, Rosario, Whitaker and Arguello, plus a warrior like Mancini.

it would be racist if "mexican" was a race. Mexico is a country, its no different than if i said "THIS IS HOW EUROPEANS BUILD UP THEIR RECORDS".

Jose Luiz Ramirez was a good fighter,

also u guys are retarted if you think because his first 30 opponents say 0-0-0 that was their actual record. It just means they dont have the records of the guys he fought at first, and of course them being from Mexico they arent going to have the fighters records on boxrec. Now add to that this was a long time ago before the computer boom....

Oh and this topic is prejudice against Mexicans....

I don't consider myself an expert on Mexican fighters but they seem to fight much more frequently than any other nationality of boxer. I bet that some of the time this works to their advantage but other times it might not...

You have to realize they treat those fights like amatuer fights.

Other races do it as well not just some Mexicans and I mean just some Mexicans because it's not like they are all doing it or were doing it back then.
