Negotiations are already underway with both Quartey & Kamarzin for Taylor after the Spinks fight.

If he beats them, then there is no doubt Taylor's going to go down in history as one of the greatest Junior-Middles of all time.

I mean even as undeserving as Duddy is, he at least beat some middleweights, unlike Spinks.Seriously, Duddy was thrown in to prove a point as how undeserving Spinks is, not suggesting that Duddy is. Maybe you might want to grasp want words mean. Spinks is more talented no doubt but he doesn't by any means deserve a title shot, nor did Ouma.

If Duddy was chosen, hell yea there would still be people bitchin that he skipped over more deserving middleweights, but damn, at least Taylor would have been fighting a guy his size with power! I would have more respect with Taylor fighting and beating Duddy than Spinks, and it is a fight I would much rather watch!
          My god almighty.

I know Cory Spinks isn't the most exciting fighter out there but to even compare Spinks in the SAME SENTENCE with John Duddy is an insult to a boxing fan's intelligence.

Like Spinks or not, he can box his ass off. Apart from the Judah II debacle, where Spinks clearly looked flat and not his usual self, Spinks isn't a walk-over. Far worse fighters have been ushered into title shots and not much was mentioned.

After this fight, I will agree that Taylor should look for the biggest possible fight to be made in the division. But taking two fights against Ouma and Spinks isn't something to cry over.

As accomplished as B-Hop is his, two "biggest wins" at middleweight were Trinidad and De La Hoya who WERE NOT full-blown middleweights. And in between we were fed fights with Carl Daniels, Morade Hakkar, and Robert Allen.

So cut JT some slack. And furthermore, NEVER compare Cory Spinks with John ****ing Duddy.

You are all missing the point. John Duddy is not as skilled as Cory Spinks. He is a bigger man, though. You could call him a live middleweight opponent. He is not ready to take on Taylor- the article states that- but he is more of 160 pound fighter. You can't claim to be the undisputed middleweight champion if all you fight are junior middleweights. Smaller men moving up to face him. Are people going to let Taylor get away with fighting Mayweather in a year or so if he beat De la Hoya? When will it stop? Jermain needs to fight men his own size - not little guys packing on pounds to get a shot at him.

Oh, and I don't hate Taylor- but I'm also sick of the Hopkins argument. "He fought Bernard twice." Yes, he got a shot at the middleweight crown against an aging fighter who was having trouble keeping light enough to make the 160 lb limit. He won a close decision. There was a rematch clause that he had to honor - not that he wanted to - and Hopkins showed he didn't have what it takes to fight at the weight anymore. Inactivity killed him. If Jermain had any say in it I'm sure he would have taken his first victory over Hopkins and invited Gatti to pack on a beer gut and have his last fight at middleweight.

Point is- he needs to prove he can still take on ACTUAL MIDDLEWEIGHTS.

So your argument is because John Duddy, a man who was locked in a life and death struggle with YORY BOY CAMPAS!, campaign's at middleweight he is more deserving a fight with Jermain than Cory Spinks.

Say Cory fought Yory Boy at middleweight....what do you think the outcome would have been?....I'll tell you....120-108, 120-108, 120-108 all for Spinks. That's what.

And it would be the exact same if Spinks fought Duddy at MIDDLEWEIGHT.

I know Spinks is fast and talented, but ever so boring and he can't punch. Think about it for a moment, Spinks is far more talented than Duddy yes, but Spinks was stopped by a 147lber, and Duddy is a true 160ln fighter. SPinks has only been stopped once, but he has only fought two real punchers, Judah, who stopped him, and Karmazin, whom he ran from like Karmazin wanted money. Spinks would either beat Duddy 120-108 or Duddy who is a pressure fighter would KO Spinks. The point is, SPinks isn't even the best 154lber, so why does he deserve a shot at Taylor? Duddy isn't deserving, but he is at least a middleweight contender. Having SPinks fight Taylor is like having Zsolt Erdei challenge Wladimir Klitschko for the heavyweight crown.

Yes, Zab knocked out a very flat Cory Spinks. This can't be argrued.

And technically, apart from Mayweather/DLH, Spinks is the best 154lber having knocked off the true champion in Karmazin.

I know you guys aren't fond of the light-hitting Spinks but he would box circles around John Duddy.
And think about it, Duddy was fighting for his life against Yory Boy, a former 147 pound fighter. If Taylor really wanted that knockout he should just take on Duddy because that's what would happen.

I actually have Simms higher than Spinks, and a bout between them I would much rather see than SPinks and Taylor.
