Yeah, he's ****ing up his career. At one time Jermaine was on of my favorite fighters at middle-weight. Winning a draw with winky which I thought was fair for both fighters, and while some people online dispute the draw and favor their fighter over the other... I saw a draw in my eyes. -
Seriously, Spinks, man why? It is with this next fight that Taylor is losing some respect with fans. I can rattle off names like Arthur Abraham, Edison Miranda, Kelly Pavlik, Javier Castillejo, Winky Wright, and hell even John Duddy who make better opponents than Cory Spinks for the middleweight title. I mean even as undeserving as Duddy is, he at least beat some middleweights, unlike Spinks. I know champions in the past have moved up in weight to challenge for titles, but Spinks is just a titlist and isn’t the best fighter at that weight. In reality, there isn’t even a true champion at light middleweight. That is the grievance many have with Taylor, is that he's fighting another light middleweight who doesn’t deserve the shot when there are a multitude of middleweights who do.
So, there really isn't a champ but "Irish" John Duddy should be in there?
I think this is the most ridiculous article ever posted on this site. Nobody is really happy about this fight but how in the hell are you going to claim there's really nobody deserving but then in the same breath state: OH BUT IRISH JOHN DUDDY IS.
You've got to be kidding me. Duddy is nowhere near Spinks level.

Exactly, you beat me to it. I agree with the article 100%.
If Duddy was chosen, hell yea there would still be people bitchin that he skipped over more deserving middleweights, but damn, at least Taylor would have been fighting a guy his size with power! I would have more respect with Taylor fighting and beating Duddy than Spinks, and it is a fight I would much rather watch!
Regardless of everything, the point is, when the bull**** excuse for a fight with Spinks is overwith, the kid better fight Miranda vs Pavlik winner, or give back the damn belt and let someone with a heart take over!Comment
