Considering the most significant thing people can say about Joe's opponent is that he is tall, I dont think he will be very good.
As for Joe getting back in the top 10's of the ABC, I guess he took the Shannon Briggs short course on doing it.Comment

I spoke with Joe recently and his said that he has 2 goals right now.
1. Get back in the top ten of any of the alphabets.
2. Get back to fighting in NY.
If he wins this fight I am sure that the WBC will rank him in the top ten again. He was the #1 contender before he got hurt and this should help him out.
He wants to fight those guys that you mentioned but no one would fight him. He is to big a risk for them for so little a reward. He is not sanctioned yet in NV, NJ or NY and that means less money for all of those involved.
A fight with Rahman or Holyfield is in the works if he can get back in NY.
Mike, or anyone else here knowledgle of the situation, what are the chances that Mesi will get sanctioned back in NY, NJ, and/or NV? I mean what are these states accomplishing by not giving him a boxing license?
Also, is there a plan B if he cannot get sanctioned in these states? I hope that these states eventually come to their senses and allow this guy to continue his career and livelyhood.Comment

His best chances of getting sanctioned are in NY. They are currently working with the Gov. Elliot spitzer to overrule the decisicon.
If he gets back in the top ten and is not able to fight in the big three states he will fight overseas if it is for a title shot.
Before he got hurt he signed a 3 fight deal with HBO and HBO is still interested in him. But only if he gets sanctioned again.Comment

Mike, surely Mesi could get some bigger fights with some more decent opponents than he's already facing? Your telling me no one who has a good record and is a name opponent will fight him?Comment
