the "stats" for Mayweather vs. Castillo I proves it shouldn't be used. They had Castillo outlanding Mayweather and **** lol. Yeah, I guess if you count punches to the shoulder and back and back of the head, then yeah, Castillo whooped him!
Should Fights Be Scored Based on CompuBox Stats?

They have a place where they judge on stats (sort of) its called the amateur ranks.
I dont think judges even have access to compubox, and whats more, the compubox people are just humans judging whether punches land same as the judges at ringside.
So my answer is no.
Another question is should compubox go back after the fight, watch it in a slower motion and maybe revise their stats for a more accurate count. (they dont already do this do they?)
And you opinion doesn't.Comment

If you consider PBF winning by running like a chicken, throwing 30 punches per round and landing far less.
Well, then I rest my case.Comment

definitely not and I hope your joking but I think judges should score more rounds even when nobody does anything. I hate when guys get even lopsided descisions when between the two of them they're landing 8 punches each per round and none of them really effective punches.Comment

No because compubox doesnt tell how hard the punches were. or effective aggresivness or any thing like that. it doesnt show ring generalship or anything else. Some one can land 30 punches and the other guy land 25 but the guy with 25 could still win based on the other crtieria.Comment

Great idea...
Though, some kinks and errors would have to be worked out...
As impossible an idea as it may seem...
Someone, somewhere will be "Laughin' to da bank with dis"
We're entering the high tech future of boxing, folks.Comment

Castillo landed more punches per round and overall in the stats. And still lost to Mayweather. While Mayweather had a scared look on his face at the end of the fight, and only raised his hands when they said his name as the winner. Castillo had his hands raised up way before they announced the winner of that fight.
The fans even boo mayweather. So, people say that the announcers were biased. Does that make the fans who saw the fight live in the arena biased aswell? And floyd still looks scared even after they announced that he won. Probably because his own fans boo'd him that night. Not the annoying fans of his that come on these forums and haven't even seen this fight, but the real fans of mayweather who come to every boxing fight he has put on. Boo'd him that night live in that arena. He looks like a scared little boy before they announce him as the winner, and scared after aswell.

if you can show me three punches that Castillo landed on Mayweather's face/head I'll consider listening to a case that Castillo won more than 6 rounds.Comment
