The WBA are too lax about mandatories - it should be every second fight (except for unification fights) like with the IBF.
Gavin Rees is only 5'3" and has a reach of 63". M'baye at almost 5'10" and reach 70" has a huge size advantage here.Comment

Have you seen Rees' record?

Rees was chosen by M'baye as a voluntary defense - he's never faced even a decent journeyman in all those 26 fights. The WBA is losing all its credibility by allowing this. Remember Valuev vs. Beck, Barrett, and McCline? It's okay once in a while, but most WBA title defenses are similar to this one: the path of least resistance.Have you seen Rees' record?

I would like to see Rees surprise everyone and upset M'Baye, who chose him for an easy win.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 07-21-2007, 03:37 PM.Comment

can anyone tell me anything about Rees? He seems very small - he has to fight on the inside because of his short reach.Comment
