ive heard about this a lot of times on here, so one day i decided to download the fight and watch it to see what really happened there.
i really think that castillo should had won, but well, there were a lot of rounds that we could be all night debating on who won it, so its really very difficult to everyone agree :P...Comment

mayweather won the first 5 rounds and castillo got deducted a point, that in itself tells you there can be no robbery, and no castillo didnt win all of the last 7 rounds either, pure hype, mayweather knew he won, rematched him when he was fully fit and won that one.
It come down to how you score fights, if you score for a fighter swarming for the sake of it, but not landing as many effective punches, then castillo won the fight.
If you score for the fighter landed the most effective punches throughout the fight, Mayweather won,
And mayweather perhpaps should of had a knockdown when he knocked castillo over his own feet, but the ref ruled it a slip.
There was no robbery, its called Harold Lederman (and foreman i think) not being able to score a close fight.Comment

You'd be suprised to know how many people havent seen that fight, yet claim castillo was robbed, mayweather clearly won that fight, it was HBO's shocking scoring which caused the contraversy.

Rewatched and rescored the fight, 115-111 Jose Luis Castillo, and I watched the sky broadcast in which the commentators were comfortably sitting on Mayweather's nuts for the whole fight. Every time Castillo got into range Mayweather would grab hold and wait for the referee to give him back the advantage. Both point deductions were bull****, and I suspect Mayweather's deduction was because the ref knew he'd ****ed it up the first time and was redressing the balance.Comment

i had it 116-112 for mayweather. i couldnt believe how lederman scored that fight. i thought floyd clearly won it, i would take 115-113 for floyd, but to have it 115-111 for castillo was ridiculous.Comment
