Which Fighters Have a Better Resume than Floyd Mayweather?

The bolded have all lost at least 3 fights
The unbolded has never fought anyone and is not even factored into this discussion.
Simply put, they might have fought better names, but they also got their asses handed to them. Mayweather has never taken a beating or lost a fight.
To me, that makes guys like Winky, Hopkins, Oscar, Toney, and Mosley worthy of more praise for being willing to step up more often, but they also lost some big fights, and most of them have lost in rather embarrassing fashion.
Hopkins lost to the 2 best fighters he ever fought by the way.
I think Pacquiao and Wright have the best resumes in boxing today and especially as of late, but you can't tell me Mayweather is that far behind.Comment

let me guess: you don't count Taylor's wins over Hopkins because some people feel it was a "robbery"? lolHopkins cleaned out an entire division, stayed undefeated for like 12 years and became the first man to unify all four major sanctioning titles. Echols, Glen Johnson, Eastman, Robert Allen and a few others were very hard punching "Natural" middleweights. He then moved up by two weight classes "as the underdog" to dominate the recognized light heavyweight champ in Tarver.
Mosley could have been one of the best lightweights of all time. He won the title and defended it 9 times, winning all by KO. Moved up two weight classes and schooled an "IN HIS PRIME" De La Hoya.
Mayweather's first win over Castillo is a bit tainted since a lot of people feel Castillo was robbed.Comment

I agree with you. Based on just who someone has fought, you could make an argument that Fernando Vargas is the best out there. He's fought all the top guys at 154. He faced Mosley twice, DLH and Trinidad in their primes, Winky Wright, and Ike Quartey. He also faced some solid contenders like Javier Castillejo, Yori Boy Campas, Raul Marquez, and Raymond Joval. That list of opponents is top notch.
Wonder why no one mentions him atop the P4P... Oh yeah, he lost every major fight by brutal KO...Comment

Exactly. These PBF fans are just delusional falling for those tricks like clowns. You can be the most skilled fighter in the world but if you don't use it against elite opposition on a consistant basis it doesn't mean ****. P4P is not based on who has the most skilled it is taking on elite competition and the best fighting the best competition out there and not avoiding fights due to the risk. Floyd has not to this pont done that in fighting elite competiton on a consistant basis. I feel that guys like Pac and Winky have better resumes and cinsistantly fight the toughest fights out there and don't avoid any fight.
SKILL IS MEASURED AGAINST ELITES. NOT AGAINST the Baldo's, Gatti's and Judah's.
And that is one of the most basic and common of sense.Comment

Taylor > Trinidad ?
I know you will say that you are talking strictly about Trinidad at middleweight, where he didn't exactly dominate, but only highly skilled technical boxers (read: DLH, Hopkins, Winky) were able to beat (or almost beat) Trinidad.
Taylor is not in their class as a boxer, and his power does not rate with Trinidad's. I'm not saying a 160 Tito is worlds ahead of Taylor, but he was better. The Trinidad who was in with Joppy would stop Taylor IMO.Comment

Good points here.
Would anybody rate Judah on par with Mosley? Or Baldy on par with even someone like Castillejo? Or Gatti with Vargas? Floyd is one-upped here in each of his latest performances.
His most impressive wins were years ago, but then again it's not his fault that he is so much better than these guys...he is fighting DLH, and hopefully we can see him fight Cotto down the road, if Miguel keeps winning.Comment

Skillwise, yes, Zab is on par with Mosley. It is his mental focus and heart that is ??ed, but his talent is on par with Mosley. are you talking about Javie Castillejo?, if so, I think Baldmir is on par with him too. Baldomir has wins against 2 well known and tough opponents in recent time, Castillejo just beat a Felix Sturm, and he ain't exactly well known or a world crusher. Gatti might not be on par with Vargas skill wise, but in popularity he is. Corrales is on par with Vargas though in popularity and skill.Good points here.

)... the only thing that stands out of Floyds resume is the fact that he's still undefeated and that's a plus....
