Since we are speaking on Floyd. I read an interview he did recently and Floyd said the fighter he would most want to face ever is AARON PRYOR. Floyd said it would be a helluva fight. Just something I thought some might want to know.

Oh yeah and I wouldn't be suprised if Floyd beat Oscar any sort of way besides KO.

I think there have been a few Fantasy Fights threads started on this particular topic.

Mayweather is the hardest worker in the sports right now (when he trains) always in shape. and he is very dedicated fighter.

The question here is would you guys give Mayweather props if he beats Oscar with style? or he wont get any credit for it?
No he won't get credit for beating DLH from a lot of people. If he KO's DLH, then DLH was washed up. If he beats Mosley, then he was washed up. If he beats Margarito, then Antonio was a bum all along. If he beats Cotto, then Miguel was soft. Hell, If Floyd said he loved sunshine there are people here that would decide that they hated the sun. Haters are gonna hate.

At this time, that's hard to say. If their egos are trashed they'll probably deny losing in convincing fashion.

Anything can happen, and in the end, the fans will be judge of that.

If all goes according to plan, minus the controversy, then they should each own up to the loss and take it like a true warrior.

That shouldn't transform them into a boy or a girl.

At least not in my book.

Floyd was fighting for a belt, you don't just win a close fight when your fighting for a belt... ****ing ridiculous. Foreman and all the announcers were laughing at that terrible decision anyways.

I think he desrves credit if he beats Oscar handily, but as is the case with Floyd when he fought Gatti, how do you give him the respect he wants when he clearly says his opponents (Gatti and Oscar) are nothing??? I mean he told us Gatti was garbage, then he wants respect for beating him....if he sucks as floyd said himself, why should we respect you for beating a fighter that is garbage as you yourself stated then Floyd? Now we come to Oscar, he says stuff like Oscar is a never was, etc, etc..., BUT he will want credit for beating Oscar....why, because you beat a guy you yourself said is nothing??? Floyd should just STFU before he fights and he'd gain a lot of respect from fans, the way he acts turns people off of him and his thug like act, I think he embarrasses himself whenever he's interviewed,he comes off looking like a jealous little punk kid with a potty mouth while Oscar looks like a mature adult.

why would mayweather automatically be able to take oscars shots just because mosely and whitaker did? mayweather's chin is still untested. he's hardly so much as been touched by a big clean punch. he should be able to beat oscar. oscar is past his prime and clearly lost some of his speed but if mayweather can totally dominate him he should get a lot of credit. he should win a pretty clear decision. Im hoping oscar pulls the upset though. mayweather will probably just be much too fast for him

You do realize that HBO was actually in the minority of the ring press that night, that had Castillo winning the fight.

How does floyd get the win if Castillo clearly lands more of his punches? I thought fights are judged by who lands more shots, not who back-peddles the whole fight. Guess I'm wrong, I always judged boxing by who lands more punches.

Floyd got the win because he won more rounds... Yes, rounds, not punches.

I laugh at people who try to use the punch stats as an accurate indicator of how the first Castillo fight went.

The punch stats are skewed, because the vast majority of rounds that Mayweather actually won, there wasn't a lot of punches being thrown at all (mostly because Mayweather wouldn't let him), especially during the first 5 rounds. Now the rounds that Castillo won, he had Mayweather pinched against the ropes and was unloading tons of punches.

What I'm basically trying to say is:

The rounds Floyd won, he landed maybe 10-15 punches.
The rounds that Castillo won, he landed maybe 30.

But the fact still remains, a round isn't worth more than any other round, despite the number of punches being landed / thrown.

If Castillo didn't completely throw away the first half of the fight, he should of won. But the fact remains, the dull, tactical, not much action first half counts just as much as the action packed second half of the fight. And people tend to forget that.
