Kessler WILL get out of his backyard, but not for the short end of a 80-20 or 70-30 split, with Warren deciding all other factors.
Kessler's next fight (as Warren is not willing to negotiate), will likely be another trip to Australia to face Mundine.
As for Dawson, it would be a very interesting fight. Dawson is somewhat unproven, but looks a far bigger challenge than Lacy ever was. I very much doubt it's a risk Warren will want to take at this stage of Joe's carreer.
Dawson is probably the fight, after Kessler, that i'd give Calzaghe the most credit for taking - áhead of both Taylor and BHop.
Think the fight Calzaghe really wants is Taylor, but doesn't look like it's going to happen.
Looks like Taylor's people are going to try & keep at Middle until Calzaghe finally moves up or retires, probably staying on a diet of Junior-Middles.
Sad.
Next in the most wanted list would be Hopkins, but don't think Hopkins wants the bout either.
If Dawson manages to get Tarver in the ring & beats him, see the fight as a possibility, but not before then.
Glen Johnson migh be his best bet for a well-respected US fighter in the near future.
Be a good fight - Johnson's very tough & always competitive.
Otherwise, Kessler in the US, in a big promotion.
Either way, has to be a big name within a year
- Calzaghe not getting any younger, & waiting around for Taylor or Hopkins seems like a waste of time.
