Of course Joe is well known over there now. People just say he aint well known to justify JT getting paid as much as Joe. It is JTs face that you wouldnt recognise in the street if you walked past him.

I hate to break it to you, but hes not well known here, at all, and the people who do know about him think that the lastfight he had was such a ****ing joke he didint win any new fans. JT is pretty known here, hes constantly on ESPN during non-boxing segments and has a pretty good following outside his hometown. How the **** can you gauge the popularity of our fighters without even being here?

Joe Calzaghe is a nobody to non boxing fans in the us. His division is worse than the HW division. I have never heard his name once on t.v. You Brits are blind and in love with him because its about the only fighter you got.

Good evening sir. Not too bad an evening so far. Just had some dinner so im alright for now. NO im not thinking of boxing as nationalistic warfare. Its just because someone said the Americans wont come here because we wont go there.
The Hopkins and PBFs of this world would get much more credit if they came here and beat the brits than if Joe went to America and got beat by Hopkins. SO there is a lot to gain for fighting and beating the birts outside America. They would be respected for having the balls. On the other hand Joe would get as much respect if he fought and beat the Americans in wales as as he would in America. Joe would get respect either way for shutting some people up. Hes already done it to Lacy. Sorry to keep mentioning Lacy.

People don't know who Joe is. They know who DLH/RJJ/Tyson/BHop/Tarver is.

Because the Lacy fight wasnt that big here. It was on for free on showtime and Lacy wasnt exactly and still isnt exactly a household name. Lacy fighting Joe wasnt big in the US. JT Fighting Hopkins was huge because Hopkins was number 1 p4p at the time. And even now hes been in with Wright as well. Joe's last 2 opponents have downgraded his stock with whatever fans he may have gained with the Lacy fight here. Joe will never be a force here and he has no one to blame but himself. John Duddy has a bigger name than Joe C and thats a damn shame. Fights that are on showtime tend to get alot less exposure because its a second rate boxing network, its the same reason almost nobody had any idea who Hatton was here until he fought Collazo on HBO, because hardly anybody even knew the Tszyu fight even took place. Even Castillo/Corralles wasnt huge until the aftermath of the fight, hardly anyone even knew it was coming on TV.

Because in the eyes of the public and the boxing public, fighting overseas isnt a big deal when there is enough p4p talent here to go around, that isnt the case in the UK.

Taylor has stayed in the US and fought Hopkins, Winky, Ouma, and now Spinks. He will fight the Miranda-Pavlik winner in the US. It's not like he's ducking top competition by staying in his home country, unlike Joke. The fact is Calzaghe HAS to leave his country if he wants to prove himself...

If Taylor wants the fight in the US then his pplshould make an offer for Joe to go there not put high prices on taylor coming here!
