even if golota was in shape that night and not ****** enough to go in bone dry he still would have found a way to lose.

No question but Golota is the all time champion in snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory!

he does in every big fight. he had it in the bag with ruiz but did absolutely nothing the last half of the fight.

This is true, but he still clearly won and was robbed by the crooked judges (saying "crooked judges" is a redundancy nowadays).

he had grant out on his feet but left him alone and grant recovered.

I believe he threw that fight. Golota was heavily mixed up with the Polish Mafiya. The capo of the Polish Mafiya - he called himself Pershing - was living at Golota's training camp in Colorado for that fight and he was in the audience too. After the fight Pershing was promptly bumped off upon his return to Poland, so i guess that some other mobsters didn't care for the fix. Golota went to Pershing's all-mobster funeral. They also drugged up Golota for his fight with Lewis. I don't know if he intentionally fouled out vs. Bowe twice or what. Tyson? Did the Mafiya make him lose that one too? Those 3 were also su****ious as hell, to put it mildlyI don't know. Golota is one ****ty actor, though.

he quit when grant decided he wanted to win. hes a joke and will disappoint again if given the chance

There's a lot to the Golota story that the public doesn't know about - the rest of boxing too. Everything else too.

Also in the Grant fight the croked referee, Neumann, was so blatant in trying to give the edge to Grant that George Foreman became outraged.

Maybe Golota and Tommy Morrison could beat the **** out of each other soon.

as i said above, golota would be a nice name on povetkins resume... and would probably draw quite a bit of regional interest

WOW! I hadn't heard a thing about this. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the probably 3 or 4 posters on this site, or long time posters anyway, that really follow Golota. I watched him fight in November of 2004 at the Garden and it was unbelievable. I'm very happy to hear this.

I think it's disgusting in a whole that Golota is frowned upon by most of the Boxing community. Golota was screwed on the cards, no question, against John Ruiz, he clearly beat Chris Byrd, could have beat Bowe two times, and then he is regarded a "terrible fighter" and a "disgrace".

It makes me laugh, that just because a fighter was screwed numerous times throughout his career, when he should have been a champion, he is now regarded as a nothing. What is some of the fighters would have lost decisons, or some close fights have gone the other way? Would they also be considered a mediocre fighter? I don't think so.
