I agree with the decision. Chagaev landed the cleaner and harder punches throughout the fight. Valuev had some good rounds but seemed content with playing "paddy-cake" with his weak jab all night.

Valuev never used his size as advantage and never opened up enough when he had Chagaev in the corner.

I hope Chagaev is a more exciting champ than Valuev was...

You do understand that in boxing the idea is to punch the other guy in the face or torso, right? Taps on the gloves and arms don't count.

Valuev hit Chag more times with his jab. However Chag hit him with more power shots, and they count more than jabs.

Nah it wasnt a gift decision,i understand if uthink Valuev won,it was hard 2 score,but ders no doubt Chagaev landed the much better punches,Valuev just didnt look good,his punches looked weak,he was just jabbing half the fight

I agree. Chagaev landed the better punches, and I thought he staggered Valuev a bit a couple of times. Valuev's jabs never hurt Chagaev.

Thoughout the fight, I got the feeling that if Valuev would just open up alittle more or even 'throw caution to the wind' and start throwing bombs at Chagaev he would have made it a very short night. I guess Valuev learnt the hard way about being too conservative...
