I've seen Hopkins on a few occassions act like he was mad or so surprised when he was fouled.

It wasn't that I thought he was actually mad (it was often in retalation for Hopkins's fouls), I felt he was playing to the ref and making his opponent mad that he'd foul and not get caught and they'd foul Hopkins and get caught.

Nobody ever said he plays fair, and that made him one of my all time favorites whoever entered the ring and whoever will. I like people for different ways, but I've never seen that big of a total badass ever.

I think he's the realest fighter I've ever seen maybe. He did things his way, or the highway no in betweens.

I think Hopkins dirty tactics get overblown.

Pretty well everything I've seen from Hopkins that could be called a foul was minor, but it was used deliberately to slightly unsettle his opponent.

Little taps to groin on the inside when ref can't see to get his opponent complaining, little shoves with the shoulder here & there to throw off his opponents balance, etc.
If his opponent does something blatant he'll respond, but he'll do it smarter than him, & let his opponent initiate it.
Nothing that I've seen from him could be said to of changed a fight in any major way, but he does do it a lot.

Much different from the likes of:
        - Trinidad, who when in trouble resorts to brutal low blows,
        - John John Molina, who repeatedly used blatant headbuts, kidney punches, & low blows to gain advantage in fights
        - Roberto Duran: you'd need to couple of pages to cover his stuff, but the worst was his bout with Buchanan.
Repeatedly bulling Buchanan to the ropes where he'd shove his head under his chin, leaning against him as hard as possible to try & ruin his back on the ropes, using forearms, headbuts, lowblows to keep him there.
Repeated shots after the bell, leading with his head, & repeated, blatant low blows that finally ended the bout, hitting Buchanan after the bell so hard to the groin that a testicle was shoved into his body.
Instead of being suspended he was awarded the fight.

        Clean Fighters:
Alexis Arguello - probably my favourite fighter, he was the definition of class in the ring. Rarely a clinch in his whole career, it was pure, clean boxing, but even Arguello landed low blows now & again. However, this is a problem with all tall fighters going to body of shorter fighters in a crouch.

Shane Mosley - already mentioned. Another very classy guy, the only fouls I've ever seen were very rare & accidental, & immediately appologised for.

Wilfred Benitez - am trying to remember a single foul from Benitez, but absolutely nothing springs to mind. Prime Benitez was wonder, & always played within the game.

Clean fighters usually have better respect from oppenet and real insight audience and a dirty fighter sometimes losess his credibility with his fans.

Agruello is totally a class in and out the ring he is what they call a true gentle man in nature.

even Shane Mosely is good in nature and really respectful I think if he lowblow Winky couple of time in the fight nd get away with it. it will help him win the fight and take Winky of his plan and I think that what Hopkins may do because i dont think Winky been lowblowed hard enough to have a 5 min rest

I don't care if he brought a fire axe with him to the ring.

His opponent better have their own fire axe to combat him with.

                He is dirty.

He's clever and knows the tricks.

I loved the foul-fest rematch with Echols. Both of them fouling each other, Echols loses it after a rabbit punch and throws B-Hop down and hurts Hop's shoulder. Hopkins eventually gets up, looks at Echols and nods his head, then gives him a beating over the next few rounds until the ref stops it.

I never once rolled into a fight with the intentions of fouling. However, if fouled I would graciously give something back in the dirty nature. Its a fight man, not a round of golf.................Rockin'

When is the last time you remember Oscar De La Hoya having a point deducted, or recieving a warning for a headbutt, or low blow?..

On the other hand, Oscar's contemporary Felix Trinidad may have preserved victory in his battle with Fernando Vargas by committing low blows..

How do you feel about Boxers who fight dirty to get the win, or guys who fight dirty just because that's them?..
Do the guys who fight clean get enough credit?..

Do we even know who they are?..
Tito was in more danger of being stopped when he pulled the low blow stuff on David Reid as well.
