These fights have to make money for the networks or they dont happen, money comes from Viewers, if Judah loses the tune-up like he did for Mayweather, then it costs the networks money as there is less hype for the fight and less people buy the PPV or view it in General.

Therefore after Judah-Baldomir, the networks aren't taking a risk.

      Thus this situation.
      obviously........

but the question is,are you okay with mismatches?

Its the #1 problem in boxing.Hitman isnt saying he should fight a top caliber opponent either.

I feel bad for the little bums with sorry ass records who go in there thinking its their chance, which they do have a chance but a very very little one, and get beat and embarrassed. It makes me kind of lose respect for Zab a little bit. I know he's been out for a year but it isn't that long and i'm sure his sparring partners were better than his opponent tonight, Ruben Galvan 27-11-2 (10 ko's).

So do you think its bull**** that he does this?
The majority of Boxers and the conventional wisdom in the sport believes that fighting "tuneups" are a nescessary part or reacclimating to the ring.

        Isn't that all this is?..

Judah's fight with Cotto is less than 2 months away..

The question is not whether i am okay with mismatches or not

The question is wether its okay for Judah to take this tune up.

          The answer is yes

Plus he fought Mayweather last year, and Spinks twice, and Tzsyu. Yeah he fights some complete fodder in between, but is involved in enough big fights for it to not be an issue. I still ****in' hate the guy though, that's why his KO loss to Tzsyu is probably one of my favourite knockouts of all time.
            agree with you

              This tuneup,which is a complete mismatch,period.

Yes Its a common practice in boxing, but I think its a problem,Im not trying to single out Judah.

Does he need a fight before cotto? Absolutely.I think he should fight someone a little better though, and its not like judah made the call, his promoter the network,whoever...I think it hurts boxing as a whole.

People complain when fighters die in mismatches, but they dont complain about mismatches?

A journeyman fighter who is in and out of club shows and undercards making ten grand a go gets a shot at a big name for five times that and a chance to get on TV. Are you going to deny him the opportunity because he doesn't live up to your standards?

Judah is a very limited fighter with a few big wins..
His a front runner just like Mayweather said..

His good for the first couple of rds and then he just wears off...

Every fighter should have a tune-up fight after a loss.

Yes, there is a difference between a tuneup and a straight massacre imo. And fighting Galvan sure as hell isnt a tuneup.
