    frank warren question?

does anyone like this guy? especially the british, you guys like warren and how he does business? do you defend his actions in how he manages things, his fighters, his fight cards, his match ups, his pay scale??

can anyone stand up for this guy?

does he represent fighters how they should be represented?

i know promoters are scum but at least king and arum have put their top fighters in tough fights, maybe not always or everytime, but at least they do and have done it before, but does warren ever?

and do any of his fighters fight outside of europe ever?

i'm not trying to get on the brits, it's not about British vs USA, but i want to know if you guys actually tolerate frank warren and his actions or if you like him and defend what he does??

don't take offense. just answer honestly please.

No I don't like Warren, but he gave Tszyu to Hatton and Lacy to Calzaghe, are you blind?

Frank Warren is a nasty piece of work. He's arranged some big fights in the past but his misses greatly outweigh his hits. He's as bad as any other promoter in the land by trying to milk his cash cows for all their worth.

However, he is the one half major promotor in the UK operating on non-subscription television. And for that alone I applaud him. It might well impact his ability to operate and bring the big fights mind but in the bigger scheme of things it's a great thing for the sport over here.

no not blind, kostya good for your case, lacy bad for your case.

he knew lacy was overrated and joe had him beat with experience.

kostya is the only one that was a threat to hatton, i give you that, although he was getting old and fouled a **** load in that fight and hatton got away with murder not to forget a mis call on a KD. but other than that kostya was the changing of the guard for hatton.

No, but if it wasn’t for him, neither Joe nor Hatton would have become World Champions. You can **** on him for not getting Joe the bigger fights but is/was there a promoter in the UK who could stump up $6 Million for Jones Jr and Hopkins, nope there wasn’t.

He's a business man, plain and simple.

You say that NOW, well over half of the experts would have disagreed with you at the time.

Jesus ****ing Christ, I'm not going to repeat myself over and over, but just because he's been proven overrated NOW, that doesn't mean he was seen as less of a threat at the time.. seeing as he was the favourite to win.

Oh come on. Lacy was THE next big thing, a title holder and clear bookies favourite for the fight. Better judges of fighters than Warren said Lacy would win. They're both good examples of the rare times Warren has got it right.

I guess the equivalent is network TV. All Warren fights are free to view and there is no scope for PPV unless the ITV contract gets ripped up and they go back to Sky and Sky PPVs for the big fights. Would bring in much more money of course (and potentially bigger fights) but in the grand scheme of things I think it's a very good thing.
