Ruslan Chagaev vs Nicolai Valuev

You know the more I think about it, the more it seems possible (but not probable) for Chagaev to beat Valuev. Ruslan (at a very young age) actually beat Felix Savon twice in international amateur tournaments.
Nicolay couldn't knock out Ruiz or Donald, and I think Chagaev may be a a bit stronger than either of them.
But I've never heard of Valuev being hurt in a fight - I wonder if Chagaev's strong enough to floor him? That would be quite a sight, even better than Ibragimov's knockdowns of 6'8'' Lance Whitaker. Didn't Jack Johnson once win a title fight against a 7 ft guy, knocking him out?Last edited by Steelhammer86; 04-11-2007, 10:15 PM.Comment

Yes, anybody who can figure out how to beat the great Felix Savon, not once but twice, is definitely not a bum. Chagaev is a threat, and there could easily be an upset. What disturbs me is that he was not prepared for John Ruiz. If he is willing to walk into the biggest fight of his life with no real strategy, one might wonder if he is truly commited to winning a title. There are ways to beat Valuev, and I believe that Chagaev has the skills to do it. The question is, does he want it bad enough?Comment
