No, because Ali had many, many great wins. Calzaghe had one, which the jury's still out on. Was Lacy overrated? Lacy needs to bounce back and do something big for Calzaghe's win to be great. If not it's just a win over ONE guy everybody thought was great, who turned out to be not so great. If Calzaghe beats Kessler the same way, he's beaten TWO guys who were perceived as world class and legitimate threats. If he beats Hopkins, he's beaten a 43 year old. If he beats Taylor, he's beaten a smaller man.
If he wants to prove himself, he should be fighting two out of those three, soon. That starts by making realistic offers.

I do not compare Blow's legacy with Ali's in no way, uggh, I am just showing the flaws of his argument, I can really bring up any fighter who fought on for too long until his abilities greatly faded.

He already had his signature win in Lacy, and frankly, if he beats Kessler, it will be just another "Robin Reid" type of win. I mean, you can hype up Kessler all you want and maybe he is indeed a great fighter, but right now he is not a bigger win for Blow than many other fighters that he beat.
And really, his legacy is really a matter of opinion, haters will always find a reason to put it down(and there are a lot of these) and huggers will always find a reason to bring it up(and there are a lot of reasons for this too)

Edit: by "you" I did not mean just you but Kessler fans
I love how Calzaghe fans overlook the two titles and call kessler justy another fighter not much different than those Calzaghe beat in the past. I think everybody is drinking that Warren Kool-Aid.

The problem with his legacy remains. He has ONE great win. If he wants more, he needs to make real offers, before his abilities slip too much.

That is why we say Ali WAS a great fighter, and not "is".
If Joe had kept his momentum, after making the big Lacy HBO debut, nobody would question his legacy.
Legacy is achievement based, I agree, but fights not being made also adds to your legacy, especially if you talk about them for so long without it ever getting serious.

You can argue Kessler wouldn’t do anything for Calzaghe, but he is a hell of a lot more proven than Inkin, and he would bring two belts. HBO is another reason why this is a bull**** move.

I really think Warren is selling out. Calzaghe could have been a superstar.

Frankly, straps dont mean **** really, since its a fighter who makes a belt, not vice versa. And in no way am I somehow diminishing kessler, he is a good fighter with a great potential, but Joe has fought his fare share of opponents who were at that gien moment regarded as well as Kessler is regarded now. And in no way am I justifying Joe's choise of opponent if he does have an alternative, but if he does not, than Inkin is as good as any. Although, I would prefer for denis to get some more experience and fight some more euro level guys before meeting any of the prime players of 168.

belts = ability now? Didn't he get one of those belts by busting up some guy who took a retirement paycheck and was never any good anyway?
